The ideals are based upon #foodnotbombs and guerrilla gardening movements, where a dream of feeding everyone and creating resilient, autonomous and sufficient communities HavingFood is Free Projectts locally helps children foster relationships with different foods, aswell as giving them a practical ...hands on education as to how food is grown and harvested. Also there's the added benefit of lowering the carbon footprint of food mileage The lane way is also about establishing connections for the community between food and neighbours, and as well as people often making connections by just attending the laneway and meeting others, we also have a coffee morning most Saturdays at 11am. *Postponed due to Covid 19* Everyone is welcome so come and say hi Do you have excess fruit, herbs or vegetables? Then why not help your neighbours by dropping your excess food at the laneway. 14.01.2022 Hi gang Here's hoping this weather holds and we aren't subjected to the arctic conditions that are predicted, and are able to spend a little time in the garden Thanks to Deb for the parsley and silverbeet , Simone for the lemons, garlic chives, oregano and sage , Sandra for the rosemary, and Alex for the yellow limes ... Mint and parsley is available for picking at will in the large pot next to the stand. As you all know, we are working with Bellarine Community Health til they are finished their renovations when we will have a permanent spot, but it is possible these stands will continue to operate even when we do a full move. With all that said, this one is currently at 9 Flinders Street, Indented Head. Come along and grab some food. No need to drop anything, there is plenty to share. Hand sanitizer in the basket, and please wear a mask as always.
