24.01.2022 No parkrun #31. Overcast but warm this morning. We went down to the Indented Head foreshore and ran (on the flat) part of the course. Enjoy your weekend and look forward to some lockdown changes next week.

22.01.2022 No parkrun #34. Aaaah, that wind. Just imagine for a moment running to the finish line. Uphill and into the wind. What memories. One day we will be able to relive such a moment. Dream on.

22.01.2022 No parkrun #38. With NSW starting parkrun events from 19th Dec, it may not be long before we in Victoria get our turn to re-start. When we do re-start it will be under the parkrun COVID-19 Framework. One thing that will change is volunteers must use the parkrun Virtual Volunteer app for time recording and barcode scanning. The Virtual Volunteer app has been upgraded and anyone volunteering should make sure they have the latest upgrade. More information about arriving at the event, pre-event briefings, volunteering and scanning at the finish will be circulated prior to our re-start. Keep exercising and stay safe.

21.01.2022 No parkrun #33. Back home running on my own turf. Hope you are recording your (not)parkrun outings. Logon to the parkrun website and follow the link to record a (not)parkrun. Record your 5km time for any day during the week. Keep up your exercising and stay safe. 1.5 1.5 1.5 Remember your masks.

17.01.2022 No parkrun #28. Mixed bag today. Sun, wind, rain. Parkrun has restarted in the NT, but don't hold your breath, we have a long way to go yet. Stay safe. Keep exercising.

16.01.2022 No parkrun #40. Fab news, parkrun events in Victoria can reopen in accordance with Tier 3 of the Government’s public events regulations. Victoria will reopen on Saturday 16 January 2021. So, dust off your walking/running shoes. Check to see if you can still fit into your activewear (don't mention the Covid bulge ). Stay tuned for further updates regarding what to expect when we restart. Keep exercising and stay safe.

16.01.2022 A big thank you to all those of you who have stepped up to be VOLUNTEERS We could not do this without you. As well as bringing masks and using handsanitisers frequently, here are the Golden Rules for all of us:

13.01.2022 No parkrun #35. Here is an extract from this week's announcement. "Around the rest of Australia, Saturday saw the largest number of parkrun events and participants since March. 7,359 walkers, joggers, runners and volunteers took part at 61 events across the ACT, Northern Territory, Western Australia and Tasmania. The remainder of the month will see the reopening of almost 150 parkruns and junior parkruns across South Australia and Queensland on 21 and 28 November respectively. In Victoria, parkrun is in discussions with parkrun event teams to review the density requirements in preparation for a re-start." Fingers crossed there will be an announcement for Victoria after the 22nd Nov. Stay safe and keep exercising.

13.01.2022 No parkrun #32. Not much to report from home this week. But we did take a W/E away for the holiday.

11.01.2022 No parkrun #26. What can we take to heart on this soggy day? Regional Victoria may have some restrictions lifted next week. Keep safe. Stay warm and keep exercising. 1.5 1.5 1.5

10.01.2022 Hopefully the LAST POST for today: Everyone, runners, volunteers, kids etc, please bring your barcodes. Even if you have a barcode in the Port booklet. We need to minimise people touching items at the event. Keep your Car/House/Caravan keys. Can you organise a way for you to keep your items with you or safe with someone else in your household, so that you do not have to leave these things in the key-box.... Let’s keep each other SAFE. Thank you, from the Portarlington parkrun Team

04.01.2022 I hope you are all EXCITED. The weather for Saturday is for a cool day with a South-Westerly wind. Typical, we will be running back up the hills and into the WIND. If you haven't already seen it, here is the detailed Covid Framework, we are operating under: https://volunteer.parkrun.com//open-with-covid-19-manageme Another reminder, everyone please make sure you are registered and bring your parkrun athletes barcode with you. Volunteers, please bring your mobile phones and face masks. Let's have a safe and enjoyable event. See you nice and early.

02.01.2022 No parkrun #37. Managed to withstand the howling wind last night. Would have been a battle on the course. Things are starting to look exciting for Victoria. We just need to be patient a little longer. Stay safe and keep exercising. 1.5 1.5 1.5

01.01.2022 From Run Director Gemma... Not much running for me during the pandemic but last week I completed a 9 month marathon, with the birth of my second little boy, Euan Vincent Hill. We are all back home now and doing well (apart from lack of sleep obviously!) Hopefully it won't be too much longer before you will be able to meet him

01.01.2022 Looking forward to seeing you all again under the auspices of Portarlington parkrun tomorrow. Please remember we are still under Covid 19 restrictions and our objective is to minimise all and any risk of transmitting this virus. So please follow the Golden Rules:
