19.01.2022 A big thank you to IFM Investors for awarding $40,000 in community grant funding for a new project we’re delivering with Ocean Crusaders, a local not-for-profit environmental organisation and a long-time partner of the Port. The grant will help fund a new project to capture and remove debris along the cruise terminal seawall - debris that travels down from the Brisbane River. An exciting part is trialling a new Solar Powered Automatic River Cleaner unit - new technology that... is safer, more efficient and works 24/7 to capture and remove debris from the river. We’re looking forward to kicking off another project with Ocean Crusaders and tapping into their expertise in waterway clean ups to benefit the marine environment. 10.01.2022 A few of our team along with the littlest ones in their families rolled up their sleeves at a family tree planting morning on Sunday. We headed to the Constellation Way Parklands at Wynnum North with our friends from Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C), planting 440 native trees and grasses. Over the last 7 years, we’ve been progressively rehabilitating this area with B4C and over that time, we’ve created a significant buffer to the local wetlands. Min...imising our impacts and enhancing the natural surrounding environment is central to our sustainability efforts initiatives such as these are benefitting both the environment and local community in the area. A very big thank you to B4C for getting the area ready for planting and for the work you do with us and around Brisbane. It was a fantastic way to spend the morning and we’re looking forward to a few more of these activities next year!

07.01.2022 Great to get out early for a run this morning with PA Research Foundation CEO Damian Topp to support the Smiddy Fun Run. This year, we are again proud to be ‘Presenting Partner’ of the 2020 Smiddy Fun Week and have committed $10,000 in support of skin cancer research. It’s not too late to contribute, every dollar raised helps researches continue their work.... https://www.smiddyfunrun.org.au/

06.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who’s followed the construction of the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal on our Facebook page. If times were different, we already would’ve had thousands of guests through the facility, on their way to making amazing memories via their cruise. Alas, thanks to the pandemic this has not been the case. This week we were able to use the BICT as a location for the Port of Brisbane’s annual End of Year customer and stakeholder event, which involved a relativ...ely small number of people following Covid-Safe event planning. We are eagerly working with the cruise lines and government authorities on an ‘industry recovery plan’, and we hope that 2021 brings with it a safe return to cruising, which means all those avid cruisers will get to see the BICT first hand. In the meantime, we will continue to post pics and videos in the months ahead to give you a taste of what to expect.

05.01.2022 This year, NAIDOC week is 8-15 November and at PBPL, we recognise, respect and celebrate Australia’s Indigenous history. Always Was, Always Will Be, is a powerful theme for NAIDOC 2020 which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. As a company, we know we have much more to learn and do, which is why we’re proudly developing our first Reconciliation Action Plan arguably the most important step in our long an...d proud history of actively supporting the community in which we operate. There are many ways you can celebrate or get involved with NAIDOC Week visit naidoc.org.au. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #portofbrisbane National NAIDOC

05.01.2022 Today a group of our employees volunteered at Rural Aid’s head office, packing Christmas letters to farmers all over Australia. A massive thank you to all the school children, kindy and day care kids and families who wrote the letters and sent them in. It was a really special insight into how thoughtful and kind these children are, and how much they care for our farmers and farming communities doing it tough. And to all the farmers, on behalf of PBPL, thank you and we are thinking of you too.
