25.01.2022 Photo Exhibition entries needed! Do you have local flood pictures to share, especially from the January 2019 floods? Prizes are up for grabs with the best photos to be used for a public display at the Port Douglas Community Hall next month as part of the Get Ready campaign for the upcoming cyclone season.... The project is run by Community Development Officer Kathrina Southwell, who is jointly-employed by Cook Shire Council, Wujal Wujal Aboriginal Shire Council and Douglas Shire Council, to work with communities worst affected by the 2019 monsoon trough by improving recovery and resilience. The public photo gallery will be launched on November 19 at Port Douglas Community Hall and will be on display until November 21. The gallery will then move to Daintree and other smaller communities affected by the 2019 monsoonal trough. This event is supported by the Australian and Queensland Governments. If you have any questions, please email [email protected], or phone 4082 0500.
