15.01.2022 Adrenalin Jetski Adventures in Port Douglas would like to extend its condolences to the family of the 27yr old Japanese woman who was tragically killed this morning in Cairns.. We would like to also extend our condolences to NQ watersports operators who are extremely professional and a great bunch of guys.. We have no comment on the incident as we know no more than anyone else and with what we have heard so far it was just an unfortunate incident..... Every industry suffers accidents unfortunately some times these are fatal.. All we can do is support those around us, and most importantly learn from each new incident and do our best to help prevent loss of life or prevent injury best we can.... Jetskis are very safe machines, when operated correctly and I can re assure you after 14 years in the industry an accident like this is extremely rare ... Any machine from a Jetski to a chainsaw, boat, motorcycle, power tool, car, plane to even a simple ceiling fan can be dangerous and we must learn from each incident to minimize future injury or death.. The 2016 national road toll is at 217 this year in comparison to Jetski - 1 .. Please allow these people to greave for the tragic loss of there family and the operators to try recover for such a horrible nasty moment in there life.. Please spare a thought for the 50+ people aboard the ferry which was tied to the dock awaiting departure who witnessed the incident including children who were just innocent victims about to enjoy their well deserved family holiday aboard the reef today ... Such a horrible day for so many people, we would like you to know u are in our thoughts and prayers today, tomorrow and for the eternity !!! Please refrain from rumor, gossip, speculation & public opinion and allow the authorities and the coroner to do there job... RIP young lady xx
