14.01.2022 Be soft in your practice. Think of the method as a fine silvery stream, not a raging waterfall. Follow the stream, have faith in it’s course. It will go its own way, meandering here, trickling there. It will find the grooves, the cracks, the crevices. Just follow it. Never let it out of your sight. It will take you. Sheng Yen Come practice at our Shala, with experienced guides and follow the stream ... Timetable available via: https://www.portdouglasyoga.com/ #portdouglasyoga #yogapractice #douglasshire

13.01.2022 Ready to shift deep family patterns and karmas? Ant Na Siftee: the mantra of Infinity As with any mantra, Ant Na Siftee has a specific sound current or unique code that activates when the tongue hits the meridians on the roof of the mouth, to recite the Gurmukhi. ... The mantra puts a certain pattern on your neurons so you have the ability to re-code reality in a different way. This is a great mantra to play quietly during sleep, due to the benefits of deep cellular change. Codes within our cells are written by our family's history and determine more than what we look like and what disease we are prone to. A powerful mantra of change and transformation for you and your whole family. New Moon blessings to you and your loved ones. Stay calm and reflective. #portdouglas #mantras #karmas #newmoon #meditation https://youtu.be/7B-OlEk_S58

13.01.2022 On Friday we shared our love and knowledge of yoga with a lovely gathering of like minded people. Noeline took us through a centering meditation with love and compassion and Shirley talked about Buddha.. a short reflection on his life and then the many representations of him in statue form. What to look for when purchasing one, what various hasta mudras mean and where (and where not!) to place one in the home. She brought in some of her treasured Buddha's including the 1st o...ne she brought as a young girl in Sarnath in 1950 which is where Buddha preached his first sermon after his enlightenment. It was here that her interest in Buddhism was sparked. We were also lucky enough to see and touch a gold leafed wooden Buddha over a hundred years old with with the most serene face and a gorgeous lacquered Buddha from Burma which she brought in Hong Kong. No wonder Shirley's home is so peaceful with all her beautiful Buddha's surrounding her. While we shared Jasmine tea and cake and Noeline's delicious Ayurvedic slice, Lesley shared some teachings on the Sutra's, in particular Chapter 1 , Sutra's 12,13 and 14 and the value of diligent practice, abhyasa. We then chanted them together which created a calm and mindful atmosphere. So much fun! The evening was by donation with $80 being raised for Cystic Fibrosis Queensland. Thank you to everyone who attended. Keep an eye out for our next Satsang date. #portdouglasyoga #yogaportdouglas #yoga #peace #learningyoga #buddha #portdouglas #whatsoninport1

12.01.2022 Meditation continues with Nol’s tonight and every Thursday at 5.30 pm throughout Oct . Tired of letting the actions, the words, the issues of others get to you? Our world is constantly presenting more deep opinions, conflicts, judgements, prejudice - this may not stop, yet our response to it can. Some of you completed the Month of September in our Meditation class, offering space for you to explore techniques of practice in compassion, epigenetics, anger, RAIN and Mantras.... Due to the requests and the shear importance of these techniques for every day living, Meditation will continue for October. This can be done week by week or as a block depending on your schedule, however booking is essential with our COVID restrictions. If you would like to join, or have a friend you believe may need this right now, our door is open. You have shown such support to me as a teacher and our studio, this allows me to continue to share a deep and meaningful practice that I truly believe is a healer. Always highlighting, this practice is not supposed to be ‘easy’ or labelled with any outcome, as to truly feel free we must accept all the layers of life’s journey. As humans we want proof by seeing the results , rather than inhabiting. This is an informed safe practice and space, supporting all who may be going through their own healing. ‘Life exists to set us Free’ This will be the last of Mediation for 2020 before I embark into motherhood. Exciting!! I will share what I have been taught and what my teachers were taught, as Yoga and Meditation is passed through many lineages while we offer our interpretation, from our hearts and from our truth. Whatever you are ready for, will happen. Let’s stay open. Class begins Thursday 1st at 5.30pm to 6.30pm $20 or those who have passes can use. 50% assists to support Mental Health Awareness month Please bring with you, towel/sarong. If you have your own eye pillow, bolster or cushion please also bring. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact. Love and light, Nols x Noeline Clarke 0429 492 930

07.01.2022 Mudras Performing mudras stimulate the flow of prana (life force or energy) throughout the body, to quieten the mind by focusing it on the simple touch of our hands or fingers and to intensify the power of our practice. According to Ayurveda considered to be the world’s oldest holistic healing system and often described as yoga’s ‘sister science’ disease is the result of an imbalance in our body caused by a deficiency or an excess one of the five key elements: space, air..., fire, water and earth. Each of these is said to play a specific role within the body and are represented by the five fingers: The thumb fire The forefinger wind The middle finger ether (or space) The ring finger earth The little finger water The fingers essentially act as electrical circuits and the use of mudras adjust the flow of energy which balance these various elements and accommodate healing. One of my favourite mudra's is Hridaya Mudra (heart mudra) Place the hands on the knees, palms facing upwards. Bend the index finger and place it at the base of the thumb. One should be able to feel the pulse. Touch the thumb to the middle and ring fingers. Let the little finger be relaxed. Sit with the breath and with awareness on the heart space. Experience a release of emotions and tensions. May the joy of yoga be yours now and forever. #portdouglasyoga #yogaportdouglas #mudras #yogalife #whatsoninport #DoItInDouglas #weloveportdouglas #thisisportdouglas See more

06.01.2022 New offering a 6 week course "The Wisdom of the Divine Feminine" - Alana will help connect you with the many forms of the Goddess within . April 22-May 27 Thursday evenings 18.00-19.30 She entered my life the way all the most significant experiences do quietly and without fanfare.... I didn’t even know I was looking for ‘Her’ but the moment ‘She’ entered my awareness there was this deep, resounding and all-knowing YES. The offering was simple- to join a course and learn more about the Hindu Goddesses of the yoga tradition. Little did I know just how profoundly this would change my life. 7 years on and her influence is still my guiding light. Over the years I have questioned why and how this short 6weeks course impacted me so dramatically. It is only now that I am about to offer a similar course have I found a reasonable answer- In coming home to the Divine Feminine, you come home to yourself. Why? Because she will remind you of all the parts of yourself that you have forgotten, neglected, suppressed and denied. In awakening to and embodying these varied aspects the healing power of the feminine can flow into the world as one becomes a vessel for it. Not only do these Goddesses represent some outer aspirations they ARE the manifestations of our inner being. They live within all of us and in honouring them, their unique gifts can be accessed. Ultimately, they are here to draw our attention back to our divine nature and claim it. Through connecting with these Goddesses, I learnt how to not only understand but appreciate those parts of myself that appeared dark and unsightly as well as radiant and alluring. I grew to immerse myself in the spaces they offered, such as being still in the pause that happens when something finishes and before something new begins. I came to see there was great wisdom in this void if I could simply allow myself to be there with it and by connecting to this certain Goddess I could. Summoning certain Goddesses to act as an avenue to connect with a deeper part of yourself is both liberating and enlightening. This is why the practice of Goddess worship has been around for thousands of years but the true nature of it has remained withheld. Yet now is the time for ‘Her’ to step forward as our world is dramatically changing and a new narrative that supports unity, love and acceptance is paramount. The gateway to the Divine Feminine is you. You hold so much power, strength, love, compassion, forgiveness, wisdom, abundance, courage, fierce grace, liberation and freedom within you cannot even begin to wrap your head around it. Though if you place yourself in alignment with the Divine Feminine, she might just allow you to catch a glimpse of just how infinite you are. $180 including handouts and practices. Availability is limited to 11 people with a few spots remaining. Contact Alana 0460435237 to book or for further inquiries.
