25.01.2022 87. Bianca Green. New Regional Year 12. A big smile and why not? Quinn Pares and I followed Bianca practising for the test yesterday and saw her doing everything right. Again this morning in our pre-test lesson. Great reflexes and awareness with no less than 3 incidences during that lesson. A 98% 1st go pass!!!! Congrats Bianca. So well deserved. Thanks so much for the photo!

25.01.2022 46. Daniel Cheeseman. Newman Year 12. This test was in doubt as Daniel badly broke his knuckle at Breakers footy training about a week back. Daniel drives brilliantly now was his saving grace. So, so careful. 100% was my prediction. A 98% 1st go pass today at Port will do following older brother Connors 100% pass three years back.... Congrats Daniel. Great driving!! See more

25.01.2022 GRAND FINAL WEEK. $50 UP FOR GRABS. PICK THE SCORE. The rested top 4 winners compete as expected.... In his wisdom the "great" Phil Gould sacked Ivan Cleary as Penrith coach 5 years ago. Ivan found his way back to coach his superstar son Nathan. 2003 was Penrith's last premiership and they are desperate to win. 17 in a row. Will it be 18?? Melbourne are there abouts every year. Will Cameron Smith have a fairytale ending? Is it his ending? We don't know. Anyway Cameron and I have something in common. We both like Chicken Wings. I just prefer eating them. The Chooks didn't fly this year. So on Sunday we have to put up with Phil Gould's "expert" commentary and "as I said earlier" Pick the score. For example, PENRITH F.T. 20 TO 18. ALSO HALF TIME. H.T. PENRITH 10 TO 6. Guess in comments. FULL TIME IS THE WINNER. HALF TIME TO SEPARATE EQUAL WINNERS. ELIGIBLE TO ENTER: You have liked the page. Thank you. Before kick off. Good luck!!

24.01.2022 58. Monique Rudder. Regional Year 11. So many horrible, ignorant and selfish grubs on our roads. Monique was bipped by people behind her as she stopped for and commenced a Reverse Park. This stressed her out and she messed it up. A perfect scoresheet late in the test before the grubs started sounding their horns. The good news is Monique was able to correct it under extreme pressure. ... A 96% 1st go pass was the result. Congrats Monique. Great come back. One of the best. See more

24.01.2022 52. Leilani Grainger of Port. A secret no more!!!!! Only mum Tammy knew about this test. Another sporty person who drives very well with almost no errors. On entry your temperature gets tested now and another new tester just trained up. 96% 1st go. Following Shelby from January.... Congrats Leilani. Good luck with the new job and touch footy and thanks for the easiest of lessons. See more

23.01.2022 Spring has sprung. Nice day for a walk? Nikki was pretty keen.

23.01.2022 62. Andrew Ammann. Regional Year 11. About two weeks back Andrew went in for a manual driving test with absolutely NO lessons and went very close to passing. His Regional Year 11 mates (who had the benefit of about 4 lessons each before their test) have been giving it to him. Today Andrew passed his manual test with just the 1 lesson yesterday. Amazing.... Congrats Andrew. Great pass!!!! I crown you The Best Regional Year 11 Driver 2020. Give that to them. See more

23.01.2022 FOUR EQUAL WINNERS IN THE ANNUAL $200 COMPETITION PICTURED: Hannah Black & Breanna Smedley. For the 5th year I offered $200 to the person guessing the number or closest to the number posted as passing by Christmas Eve.... The total number today was 105. Breanna and Hannah pictured went 106. Vicki Bates-Graham and Sarah Ruth both 104. So 4 equal winners. I was able to catch up with two of the four this afternoon. Thanks Hannah for driving to my house to pick it up. Brea made me drive to her house. The car knew the way. Congrats!!!! See more

23.01.2022 103. Decklan King. Westport Year 12. Just over a year in the making. One lesson per week. Decklan gradually got better and better. The mistakes dried up recently and it was time to book the test. Practise makes perfect. The more you do the better.... A 1st go 96% pass at Port in the rain. A big congrats to Decklan and a good run continues!!! See more

23.01.2022 WHATS BEEN HAPPENING IN THE DRIVING TEST. Photo: A young friendly tester and lady giving each other loving looks during a driving test. A certain pass??... TAKE NOTE IF YOU HAVE A TEST SOON. 1. Make sure your indicators and ALL brake lights working including the one in back window. 2. Your temperature is taken on entry. (Dont go in hot). Can delay the test. 3 Log Book. Fill in every space. Lic no. Top of each page. ALL signed off. Adds up to 120 hrs. 20 night. 4. Full 5 secs of indicator before pulling out and full 3 secs of indicator before lane change. (New tester). 5. Stay off ALL unbroken lines. Stop sign line and others. 6. HEAD CHECKS. Last thing before moving and over your shoulder. (Look out the window). 7. Be very aware of the fail mistakes and avoid at all costs. 8. They are still very lenient on slowish and taking your time with gap selection. ( Decision Making). Something positive. Lastly, if you fail and a lot have lately, either on the Friday or Monday, they are putting extra slots in for the week after. For an earlier re-booking. Dont go in not ready. Be switched on and ready to react and respond to what is occurring at the time. The fail rate is up and if you have a test, good luck!!!

23.01.2022 64. Alex Crawford of Bellangary. We have been going roughly 1 a week for near a year. Back in October last year I took a photo of his very 1st park which wasnt very good. Not a great photo either. (My finger). Today, 11 months later, no problem with the park or anything else. He drives fine now. Perfect driving. Just 2 head checks and position in the Reverse Park. A 97% pass and congrats Alex!!! Thanks also to dad Kel for bringing Alex in each week for the many lessons.

23.01.2022 72. Riley Johnston. Regional Year 11. The very last time I will type Regional Year 11 this year. 15 times is enough. Enjoy your holiday before the big Year 12 commences. Riley was up early this morning doing his meditation and yoga. A bit of a hippie who would fit in around Nimbin or Bellingen consuming lentils and other home grown stuff. Hessian bags, bare foot and of course bra less. He does not own a phone. So refreshing as I type this on mine.... Anyway, the meditation and yoga must have worked because he passed. What a smile. It didn't matter who was testing either. Congrats Riley and thanks so much for the photo!!!!! See more

22.01.2022 93. Bella Chapman-Martino of Lighthouse Beach and Lighthouse Beach Takeaway. Bella is the bubbly, bright face of Lighthouse Beach Takeaway when you feel like a good old fashioned hamburger. She was like that in our lessons and her driving improved out of sight lately. So good in our last two lessons. A 97% 1st go pass. Congrats Bella and thanks for fun lessons. See you in the shop.

21.01.2022 $50 UP FOR GRABS. PARRA VERSUS WESTS TONIGHT. PICK THE SCORE. Are the Wests Tigers the real deal or are they destined to finish 9th again. They thrashed Brisbane last week and on a roll. Do you guess with your head or your heart?? Be quick. 90 minutes to kick off. GOOD LUCK!!!

21.01.2022 WESTS V PENRITH. HOW MUCH WILL WESTS LOSE BY? Or could they win???? The final nail in Wests coffin tonight. Will they achieve par and come 9th or worse. Could they have a shock win and make a run for the finals? PICK THE SCORE. For example Penrith 30 Wests 10. Closest wins. ELIGIBLE TO ENTER. Anyone who has liked the page.... Be quick. 30 mins to kick off. Good luck!!! 3rd photo. A very happy previous winner Before kick off. See more

20.01.2022 94. Joel Wise. St Columba graduate. School is over for ever and the independence begins for Joel. A talented musician. We did heaps of lessons and an early start today to cover the changes. A 95% pass today. Congrats Joel and good luck with Uni over the next few years.

20.01.2022 83. Mason Hutchison. Apprentice Cabinet Maker of Port. We only had a 30 minute pre-test lesson which was stressful to say the least as we rushed to practise as much as we could. Mason is newish to manual. We got to Service N.S.W. and lost the coin toss. I gave him very little hope.... Under pressure he came through. A 95% 1st go pass. A great pass. Congrats Mason!!! I loved being proved wrong . See more

20.01.2022 RAIDERS VERSUS ROOSTERS TONIGHT AND THE RETURN OF SBW. $50 UP FOR GRABS. Last one before the grand final. The Roosters and Raiders are on the same points and battling it out for the 4th spot in the semis.... Sonny Bill Williams return off the bench. The man who has done everything. The last three have had multiple equal winners. I do not want to knock on 3 or 4 doors tomorrow so...... PICK THE SCORE. FOR EXAMPLE ROOSTERS 28 Raiders 18. ALSO. How many minutes will Sonny Bill play. For example 20 minutes. ELIGIBLE TO ENTER. Anyone who has liked the page. Before kick off. Look at others before submitting. Good luck. Now to the Bottlo. 3.5 hrs until kick off. DONT FORGET SBW MINUTES AS WELL. Previous winners ok to enter.

20.01.2022 84. Luke Townsend. New MacKillop Year 12. Two years ago Luke's older sister Ellie scored a 100% 1st go pass. Today was Luke's turn. I was hopeful because he drove perfectly in most of our lessons. Anyway we got the double!! Another 100% 1st go auto pass.... It must run in the family. Luke has just purchased a manual. Let's book the next test. I reckon 3 lessons will do it. Congrats Luke. See you soon. See more

19.01.2022 105. Jasmine Edghill of Port and Monash University Student. Just over three years ago Jasmine did a driving test at Port with another driving school. She failed on headchecks and that was that. No re-booking. Driving was done! I got the call a few weeks back. Time to get back on the horse and Jasmine was rusty, hitting the odd kerb and roundabout. It clicked though and she is a great little driver now. A 99% 1st go pass with me and I've never seen anyone happier.... Younger sister Michelle was 99% 1st go earlier in the year. Congrats Jasmine. The last this year and thanks for finishing it on a bright note. See more

19.01.2022 UPDATE ON TESTS AND BOOKINGS. PHOTOS. 1. Left turn. Unbroken line. 1. Follow the line but stay off it. 2. Left head check required because room for a car to get in there.... 2. Unbroken line for a left turn. Stay off it or you fail. Go to the right of it. 3. Right turn at Horton Street lights. DONT follow a car forward to the middle. WHATS COMING UP IN TESTS. As above. Stay off unbroken lines HEAD CHECKS . Coming up at traffic lights and Reverse Park. Some are passing with 2 head check errors. One more and you fail. Left turn head check required if room for a car to get in on your left. Watch your speed. The general public commonly do about 60 in the 50 zone but you cant in your test. CORONA VIRUS. No infections in our area. A miracle considering the amount of tourists in the school hols. Masks are strongly encouraged and being worn more to prevent a second outbreak but not mandatory at this stage. BOOKINGS. BOOK EARLY. Sorry to the late comers I have not been able to accommodate. I have been working 7 days. 15 more booked in for tests over the next month. Good luck to all!!!!

19.01.2022 PANTHERS VERSUS ROOSTERS TONIGHT. $50 UP FOR GRABS. PICK THE SCORE. HALF TIME AND FULL TIME. Is this the Grand Final early!!!! The winner gets a week off whilst the loser will have a very hard match next week.... Panthers have won 15 in a row. Roosters got thrashed by Souths last week. Any one game to tip the Roosters???? I know some will. Sonny Bill is out. Oh no!!!! Couple of old guys in that Roosters backline. HALF TIME AND FULL TIME. For example HT Rooster 12 Panthers 6 FT Roosters 22 Panthers 18. Full time is the first criteria. Most important. If equal I go to half time as well I want one winner. CLOSEST WINS. Post in comments before kick off about 90 minutes away. ELIGIBLE TO ENTER: Anyone who has liked the page. Good luck!!!

18.01.2022 65. Maclain CameronLocke Newman Year 11. The fail rate is up at the moment. Maclain drives a manual very well and bucked the trend. A 1st go 94% manual pass today at Port today and Im sure that percentage would have been higher with another tester.... Congrats Maclain. Great driving!!!! See more

17.01.2022 77. Andrew Gordon of Port. I am currently doing lessons with Andrew's partner Paige to get her licensed and today was the day Andrew had the opportunity to get his back. Old habits die hard but he drives fine so a 1st go 95% pass this afternoon capping off a pretty good week. Congrats Andrew. Have a good-weekend!!!!

17.01.2022 49. Jaden Nardi. MacKillop Year 11. An exceptionally great manual driver is Jaden. All easy lessons. Very safe, great with the gears and clutch A first go 97% pass at Port today as expected. He follows older sister Talia from 3 years ago passing 1st go with 97%. Congrats Jaden and thanks for completing todays double and 5 from 5 this week.... Five happy faces. See more

16.01.2022 102. Connor Hallum. Regional Year 12. When there are two tests being conducted simultaneously there is a coin toss when you walk in. Heads is good. Tails is bad. We got heads. Connor only made two errors in our pre-test lesson because he is driving very well. Connor eliminated those two errors in his test and scored a 1st go 100% pass. Great driving Connor!!!!... I love 100% passes. The 13th this year. Maybe I'm not a Muppet. Unfortunately tails was unsuccessful. See more

16.01.2022 70. Shinae Hodges of Rollands Plains. Firstly thank you to members of Mid North Coast Gal Pals who recommended Port Driving School when Shinae enquired. Shinae drove beautifully with me in our pre-test lesson. Very relaxed and safe. Perfect speed. Not too fast, not too slow. A 99% pass in the big test. A great way to start the new week.... Congrats Shinae. See more

16.01.2022 56. Keira Alchin. Camden Haven Year 11. Keira follows older brothers Ethan and Zac, each about 18 months apart. All great students and good company during the lessons Keira drives fine too. All easy, cruisy lessons. A 96% pass at Port today capping off a 3 from 3 week.... Congrats Keira who is the last of the Alchins. Thank you to the Alchins. Its been a pleasure. See more

16.01.2022 88. Quinn Pares. Regional. New Year 12. Quinn scored 73 runs on Saturday opening the batting for Wauchope in the Premier League. On his 17th yesterday he scored 95% in our lesson. In his pre-test lesson 98%. Sporty people are always good drivers and his 100% 1st go manual pass is proof of that!!... They are quite rare. Richie Benaud would say, "Great driving that". A big congrats to Quinn!!! Completing today's New Regional Year 12 double!! See more

16.01.2022 ORANGE LIGHT. STOP OR GO?? Two students in the past week have been failed for not stopping at an orange light. Right turn. Park Street into Buller. Both Learners argued it went orange when they were right on it. (Good argument)!!!... Firstly, those lights are problematic. If you stay the required 3 sec gap from the car in front they mostly change to orange. They can also change after just 2 seconds of being green. I don't want heavy braking and a car running up the back of my or your car. I guess just proceed slowly and brake and stop if you have time. I am very worried about students braking heavily now resulting in rear end accidents. You may have noticed, a lot of motorists Tailgate. The biggest complaint from learners. OTHER THINGS COMING UP. LEFT TURN. Left head check if any room on your left. HEAD CHECKS. Last thing before moving. LANE CHANGE. 3 secs of indicator before changing. Full 5 secs of indicator before pulling out from the kerb. Good luck if you have a test soon.

15.01.2022 MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM PORT DRIVING SCHOOL. A few highlights and lowlights of the year. 1. It rained. 2. Ursula Butlin of The North Shore was finally able to drive on to that ferry.... 3. I had a holiday. 4. Brent Nixon and Shelby Grainger scored 1st go 100% passes and they knew it before officially delivered. 6. It rained 1st go passes. I was driving into Regional a lot. 7. Mary Azzopardi. 100% 1st go manual. 8. A trip to Tuncurry with Mitch Scott as the virus spread. All was shutting down!! 9. Driving Tests and lessons shut down and I have 5 weeks off and loved it. 10. Tests and lessons re-commence. I am working 7 days to get through the backlog and I want another holiday. Too bad. What a finger looks like after slamming a door shut on it. Tests being conducted simultaneously. 11. Lachlan Walker learns maybe it wasn't a good idea to tell everyone you are doing a test. 12. New Testers!!! Disputed fails, Orange Light issues and passing the test is now a 50/50 chance. Toss a coin. I spoke up because I wasn't putting up with that! 13. We still don't miss Tester Phil. 14. Regional Students keep booking. 15. Plenty of pick the score winners. 16. I became a grandad. Isn't he cute. 17. Mini Mania became Port Macquarie Driving School. 18. I was called "A Muppet." 19. Regional Students keep booking. 20. 100% passes again, Quinn Pares manual and that's the way it should be. A happy ending and I have some time off. Thanks to students, parents and friends for another mixed but good year overall. Merry Christmas!!!!!!! See you next year.

14.01.2022 A VERY FITTING $50 WINNER BREANNA SMEDLEY. In the $50 PICK THE SCORE event last night, The Panthers beat The Roosters 29 to 28. A great game. Brea predicted 30 to 18 Panthers (11 off). James Townsend predicted 26 to 20. Also 11 off. Brea's half time prediction of Panthers 20 Roosters 12 was the difference, just 4 off the 20 to 12 half time score.... So on the way to Bakers Delight this morning where Brea has a 9am shift I dropped in. The $50 win compliments her $400 tipping comp win from her dad's work. Amazing!!! Brea is a strong Souths supporter and is attending the probable Souths versus Parra game next week. Good luck with that Brea and congrats!!!! Bad luck James

14.01.2022 53. Clint Dwyer. Newman Year 11. You get an earlier date at Kempsey most of the time so thats where Clint went today for his big test. A great driver so no surprise by his 95% 1st go pass. Continuing the run. Ive never had a student fail there. Congrats Clint and thanks so much for the photo and letting me know!!!

13.01.2022 99. Damon Kipreotis. MacKillop Year 12. A very competent and safe manual driver is Damon. A nice change to be in the WRX today with a student who drives it fine. 70% is auto now. He started with a stall but as most have done this year, a 1st go manual pass at Port this afternoon. Congrats Damon, thanks for easy manual lessons and completing today's double!!

13.01.2022 THINK TWICE ABOUT LETTING YOUR DOG OFF THE LEAD AROUND BUSHLAND. I was told today that a dog off the lead went into the bush around Rushcutter Reserve in Lighthouse and was bitten by a snake and died as a result last week. I let Nikki off the lead at times for a run around but no more. I don't know what snake but most likely an Eastern Brown. Very deadly.... An inquisitive dog smells the scent. The snake if threatened will react!!! Leave it to Lighthouse Beach now. Happy for people to share this. Let's keep our dogs alive!!! See more

12.01.2022 59..Mikayla Copp. Westport Year 11. The last official winters day but how warm it is and Mikayla needed a drink of water to cool her down before the test. They take your temperature now. Her driving in the test was very cool and calm. Perfect driving, just one error in the Reverse Park. So a 99% pass. Congrats Mikayla!!!

12.01.2022 79. Riley Hunter. Newman Year 12. The WRX has clicked over just 8000ks and still feels like brand new. Over the past 10 months most have passed 1st go in it. Riley continues a good run. He drove great with me today and drove very well in the test. Very careful and competent. A 1st go 96% manual pass. Congrats Riley!!... Great driving!!! See more

12.01.2022 67. Liam Harvey. Newman Year 11. Ive always said, "there is an element of luck in the driving test". Which tester you get and what happens during your test. Today, Liam didnt need any luck. Hes a great driver and his 100% pass is proof of that. Congrats Liam and thanks so much for the photo!!!

12.01.2022 85. Jack Elsley of Wauchope. My WRX was too small for Jack. He looked like a sardine in a can but he drove it first time better than anyone else. The big rig in the photo is what he needed. A very calm and composed manual driver. He looks like he's been driving for years.... Congrats Jack and thanks so much for the photo!! See more

11.01.2022 51. Blake Eggleton. Adventist Kempsey. Blake follows older sister Cassie and twins Daimen and Kieren from a few years back. New testers are unpredictable and I in no way could predict this. If you zoom in on the scoresheet you see all ticks and no circles. Thats 100% and its manual. Very rare.... Thats great driving when it counted. Completing todays double Congrats Blake and thanks Helen and Troy. See more

10.01.2022 55. Michael Williams. Heritage Year 12. New testers can be unpredictable. A new tester fresh out of the Service N.S.W. Driver Tester Academy last week marked Michael 13 times for just touching the inside bottom of the wheel at the END of a turn. ... Otherwise just one minor error. In 15.5 years of driver training, Ive never seen a scoresheet like it and certain I never will again. No problems today with a 96% manual pass at Port. So in affect, Michael has now passed twice. Congrats Michael on your 2 passes. You were delivered a dis-service last week. Well done mate and good luck with the H.S.C.

10.01.2022 PORT DRIVING SCHOOL as opposed to Port Macquarie Driving School. (The most affordable school in PORT). PHOTO. Bridget Gaul. 1st lesson with the new roof sign. ... Firstly I have known from day 1 that it was open for someone else to take the name "Port Macquarie Driving School". I could have purchased it myself to prevent this but I didn't bother. I am also aware that in websites "key words" In it can identify schools as Port Macquarie Driving Schools. So if you Google "Port Macquarie Driving Schools), I dont come up early. I don't have a website, just this page. But my advertising cost is ZERO. So yesterday a girl booked lessons with Barry thinking Port Macquarie Driving School was Port Driving School. I would have taken the booking because she was a sibling of a previous student and Lighthouse. Very preferred. So whilst Barry emails other schools telling them not to refer themselves as Port Macquare Driving Schools and takes bookings by mistake I will continue as Chris of Port Driving School. Not the most affordable school in PORT. Barry is cheaper. You get what you pay for.

10.01.2022 89. Huan Fowler of Port. Huan hails from China and needed to convert her Chinese License to a N.S.W. License. A fast learner and she did a running commentary during the test. "Three seconds of indicator, one, two, three, headcheck, go". It worked. A 1st go 97% pass this morning.... Congrats Huan!!!! Great driving!!! See more

10.01.2022 GOOD NEWS. THE RIGHT TURN AT THE HORTON STREET LIGHTS. GONE AND WONT BE MISSED. Over the last two years, quite a few have come unstuck in their driving test on the right turn from Horton Street into William Street.( The photo is William into Horton but same rules).... I did a post on it. It's gone. Good riddens. I like the new test routes. Fairer. Less town driving and a blessing as town will be crazy busy in December. Good luck to those with tests. Thanks to Service N.S.W. I criticize at times. This is a good change. 3 from 3 passed this week on the new routes.

10.01.2022 61. Vivien Partridge. Wauchope High Year 11. The scoresheet shows just a few control errors which happen in a manual test only. Apart from that, near perfect driving. This is a 1st go manual pass at Port this morning for Vivien who drives a manual fine following older sister Brooklyns 1st go manual pass from 4 years ago. Congrats Vivien. Great driving. Thanks so much for the photos!! 3 from 3 this week so far.

10.01.2022 My reply to John Jay Smith. WELCOME TO THE MUPPET SHOW. 1. Yes I do test routes leading up to driving tests. 2. Yes I give out maps.... 3. Between 85 to 90% pass on their first attempt and over 100 every year. Proven by my posts on this page. 4. They look happy John. Thanks for your feedback John. The Muppet Show will continue. You can even call me, "Kermit The Frog". You can continue liking "big butts". I hope Barry appreciates people like you talking him up. Thanks again John.

09.01.2022 95. Jaidyn Rossiter. MacKillop Year 12. Jaidyn mistakingly booked Port Macquarie Driving School for his first lesson and Luke Townsend reckons he was a bad driver early on his Ls. I squeezed him in late. A lesson on Saturday and one before the test today. Jaidyn drives fine now. Better than fine. Great responding to significant hazards.... A first go 95% pass. Congrats Jaidyn. See more

09.01.2022 76. Anthony Ha. Year 12 All Saints Casula. Anthony is back in Port for a couple of weeks before going back to Sydney for the big Year 12 exams. He pushed me to find some times for lessons before today's test. I'm glad he did. A 1st go 99% pass. That's great driving. Congrats Anthony and good luck with the exams. Keep smiling.

09.01.2022 74. Mia Watts. Regional Year 11. This will be the last time I type Regional Year 11 this year before year 12 commences in a week So now I have to put up with abuse from 2 irate women in the line as I walk in with my student to hear the result. It was worth it to hear a 98% 1st go pass this morning. Mia was pretty much perfect with me in our lessons as well. Very switched on, safe and competent.... A great result and well deserved. Congrats Mia!!!! See more

08.01.2022 WESTS VERSUS PARRA. GUESS THE SCORE WINNERS. Congrats to Zac Roach, Flynn Graham and Tegan Chapman. All three were 4 off the 26 to 16 win to Parra. The $50 offered became $60 and 3 winners of $20 each again.... A big month coming up with about 16 students booked in to do a driving test. Good luck and lets hope theres plenty of happy faces after a pass to be posted next.

08.01.2022 Last nights winner Declan King. A 12 point win to the Roosters last night and there were a few having the Roosters winning by 12 but SBWs playing time was only 12 minutes 45 seconds rounded off to 13 minutes. 20 minutes was the closest to that. Congrats Declan. A fitting winner. We do 1 lesson about every week and thanks to those having a go.... Grand Final is now a 3 Horse Race. STORM, ROOSTERS OR PENRITH. See if Im right??? See more

07.01.2022 82. Angus Bear. New MacKillop Year 12. All cruisy lessons with Angus because he drives fine. My bold prediction to mum Ali as Angus began the test? 100%. We will take his 99% 1st go pass. Congrats Angus!!!! Thanks so much for the photo. Great driving as expected!!!

07.01.2022 101. Luke Townsend. MacKillop Year 12. He did it again. Luke scored 100% in his 1st go auto pass in October following older sister Ellie but he purchased a manual. He had to learn manual quickly and he did. Probably the quickest ever. Another 1st go pass. 97% is brilliant under the circumstances. Congrats again Luke!!

07.01.2022 WHAT ARE 17 YEAR OLDS WORRIED ABOUT? Over the past few weeks Ive been asking my current students, "What is worrying you. Personal and/or global?" About 30 were questioned. Some gave more than 1. Here is the result.... 1.Getting a good career. High paying, in demand. A job I like. (8). 2. Finishing high school/exams. (5) 3. Artificial Intelligence/technology taking away jobs. (3) 4.. World survival/own survival. (3) 5. Dying. (2). 6. Having enough money. (2) 7. Nothing. (2) 8. American downhill run and us following. 9. Dumb people doing stupid things. 10. Living up to parents expectations. 11. Serious injury from footy. 12. Losing my license. 13. 2nd Covid 19 wave. 14. What career to do after school. 15. World Super Power China. 16. Being away from parents for Uni. 17. Hail 18. Bushfires. 19. No O.S. travel. 20 Global warming. 21. Failing Ps test. 22. Falling off Quad Bike. 23. Killing someone in lessons. Just one said Global Warming. Last time it came up prominently. The news has been all about Covid19 lately which 17 year olds dont fear very much. Plastic waste didnt come up at all and again world poverty not mentioned. Thanks to all who gave open and honest answers. Hope you find interesting.

07.01.2022 45. Carly Skye. University Student of Lighthouse Beach. Well I had to slow Carly down. A bit of a speedster but her speed was perfect today in our pre-test lesson and she felt sorry for the people behind us. A bit nervy and stressed out before the test but Carly came through when the pressure was on. A 99% 1st go pass at Port. Congrats Carly. You were great fun.... See you in Coles. See more

07.01.2022 66. Jye Plumb of Port. Jye has two jobs and working 7 days a week as have I. A lesson yesterday and he drives fine. I followed part of his test whilst doing a lesson. He was doing everything right in what I witnessed and thats what you have to do these days. A 97% 1st go pass with me and them. Great driving that. Congrats Jye!!!

06.01.2022 71. Jayke Hainsworth of Lake Cathie. We did beginner lessons two years ago and a few leading into today's test. A great, safe driver now and a 1st go 96% pass following sister Ella from a year ago. Congrats Jayke. Great driving. The lake closed again last week but your freedom to drive alone and independently is open..Enjoy that independence and thanks Jayke.

06.01.2022 1 Hour until kick off. Still time to put a score in. Wests Tigers won in 2005. The good old days. A VB Can and Wests. Maybe I'm a bit of a bogan? I don't have a mullet so I'm ok. Anyway tonight is Melbourne/Penrith. Wednesday's post. Pick the score. ... Have a go. Not in this post. Wednesday!!! Good luck. Enjoy the game!!!! See more

06.01.2022 GRAND FINAL PICK THE SCORE WINNERS DARCY PARES AND MIKAYLA COPP. Melbourne won 26 to 20.... Darcy predicted 28 to 22 Mikayla 28 to 20. An argument for either to win. H.T. etc. Couldn't split them so $50 becomes $60 and $30 each. Mikayla has just started Year 12 and Darcy is finishing Year 12 with exams now. Maths was today. Both previous students. Worthy winners. Great to give something back and a bit of fun. Congrats Darcy and Mikayla!! Phil Gould's commentary?? So biased for Penrith. I have no problem with the others.

06.01.2022 47. Jemma Northey of Lighthouse Beach. After the pre-test lesson we walked in for the test but mum had booked a Driver Knowledge Test instead of a Driving Test. A big thankyou to Service N.S.W. who amended the mistake and allowed Jemma to do a driving test. A 1st go pass was the result because Jemma drives fine.... Congrats Jemma and thankyou. 3 from.3 this week so far. See more

06.01.2022 57. Molly Cassar. Regional Year 11. New testers and it seems the fail rate is up a bit lately. I was very confident Molly would not be a victim of the current trend. Lots of lessons and she drives fine. Great company as well and I enjoyed our lessons. A 1st go 98% pass at Port today. Perfect driving but be warned, the two errors were headchecks.... Congrats Molly, thank you and happy birthday!!!! See more

05.01.2022 44. Madi Svarc of Bonny Hills. Two years back older sister Alicia scored a 1st go 100% pass at Port. Today Madi made absolutely no mistakes in our pre-test lesson. Another 1st go pass today at Port for Madi.... Congrats Madi and thanks for the easiest of lessons!!! See more

05.01.2022 69. Cameron Martin. MacKillop Year 11. Cameron only went into manual very recently but picked it very quickly except for the occasional stall. He just got better and better. Very switched on and plenty of those nervous questions this morning before the test. "Do I have to do a head check here?" etc. Anyway, a 1st go 97% manual pass.... Great pass!!!! Congrats Cameron. See more

04.01.2022 96. Georgie Bate. Regional Year 12. In 16 years I can't remember a girl doing their test in a big old rig like this one. Normally it's a farmer's son from west of Wauchope somewhere with a long dirt driveway to negotiate. Georgie unfortunately drives it a lot better than my WRX so it had to be. The lack of acceleration getting into gaps worried me but I shouldn't have.... A 1st go 95% manual pass!!! The good run continues and Georgie got a new photo!!!! She hated the old one. Congrats Georgie and thanks so much for this photo!!!!!! Great driving!!!!!! See more

04.01.2022 GIFT VOUCHERS AVAILABLE AND UPDATE. PHOTOS: The new striped test parking spots at Port and the gift vouchers available. Your choice. Totally booked out for the year. I have 4 days out for a 50th in Canberra. (My wife's boss so I have to go). Sorry. Just kidding. Looking forward to it. Also the Christmas period.... Gift Vouchers available. I will be working all January. They are filling now. BOOK EARLY. Still quite a few booked in for tests to finish this year. Good luck to all!!!! See more

03.01.2022 98. Tayla Attkins. Regional Year 12. They just keep coming and there's still more to come from this Regional Year. Tayla is the 24th. A lesson the day before and one immediately before the test works really well. Another very good driver with a 98% 1st go pass this morning. Congrats Tayla. Great driving!!!!! The 90th 1st go pass this year.

03.01.2022 60. Oliver Waals. Port High Year 12. Life is not fair. Neither is the Driving Test. The driving test has an element of luck in it. Which tester you get for example. Also what happens in your test. A vehicle with a left indicator on to turn left doesnt turn but speeds straight at you is very bad luck!!!!... Today in our pre-test lesson, I witnessed the best driving I have seen in a while. 100% with me. 100% in the actual test. The tester was very surprised that this was 2nd go. Congrats Oli. 100%. So well deserved!!!! See more

03.01.2022 97. Hannah Summers. Regional Year 12. Drama in the test. A right lane change on Gordon St heading West before a right turn couldn't be done. A constant stream heading to the touch football and NO ONE would let her in, but if you barge in you fail. The test was re-routed and Hannah thought she had failed. No she did the right thing and it seems Regional Year 11/12 students don't know how to fail. Hannah is a great driver. All easy, fun lessons. A 1st go 98% pass following brother Jacob from 4 years ago. Congrats Hannah and thank you for the easiest of lessons and a very impressive pass!!!

03.01.2022 86. Ella Handley. New Regional Year 12. It's good fun driving around with a student making almost no mistakes, especially in a manual. Smooth and competent. Too easy. I predicted a 98 to 100% 1st go pass. 98% will do fine. Congrats Ella. Great driving as expected. The 20th Regional student this year with a couple more booked in.

03.01.2022 TIPS TO PASS YOUR IMPENDING DRIVING TEST. PHOTOS: FIVE in a row passed in the last week. A good run again finally!!! A big thank you to Service N.S.W. I had some concerns. They have been addressed.... I am very positive and hopeful for a good end to the year. No more whinges from myself and sorry for being too negative and inappropriate lately. What you need to do; PRACTISE. Get out there on top of your lessons. Do it all. It is actually hard not to get a head check error in the Reverse Park. So do a lot of them. Know the routes back to front. Read my handout. No excuses now. BE VERY AWARE OF THE FAIL MISTAKES. Avoid at all costs. Let's keep a good run going.

02.01.2022 80/81. Jesse Budnick and Ocia Chapman. New Regional Year 12. 17 years and 1 day ago Ocia was born and 17 years to the day, Jesse was born. Mums Louise and Belinda shared the same ward at Port Hospital with their new born bubs. Since then the two familys have gone on camping trips together and Jesse and Ocia have gone to school together.... This morning Jesse had the 11am test and scored a 100% 1st go pass as I predicted because he drives very well. Ocia did the 11.45am test and scored a 98% 1st go pass because she drives very well too. Lucky as everyone knew it was test day thanks to a substitute teacher yesterday. A great morning. Congrats Jesse and Ocia and this is why I still teach. Mornings like this one!!!!!! Thanks also to Jesse for coming back for the 1st ever dual photo and happy birthday

02.01.2022 PICK THE SCORE WINNERS. About 35 minutes before kick off, a spur of the moment decision last night to put up $50 for the closest prediction of the final score in the Wests verses Penrith game. Why? I think I was a bit excited about having my first day off in weeks and felt generous. A 30 to 6 win to Penrith after the Wests Tigers led 6 nil.... Glenn Grainger noticed that my example score of Penrith 30 Wests 10 would have won. Anyway AGAIN multiple winners. They were all 8 off the score. $50 divided by 4 = $12.50. $50 became $80. $20 EACH looks better. So congrats Tammy Lee-Anne Grainger, Bayden McGuinness, Amber Leigh and Will Jachson. Thanks to those having a go. See more

02.01.2022 63. Emilee Gibbs. Regional Year 12. We started with a run of manual lessons which were hard work. Those hill starts were a problem. Manual was skipped for auto and it was like having a holiday. Emilee drives an auto beautifully with almost no mistakes!!! A 1st go 96% pass. I was hoping for 100% but we will take it.... Congrats Emilee!!! A huge smile and why not? A great end to a very good week!!! See more

02.01.2022 78. Emily Jordan. MacKillop New Year 12. (Tomorrow). Well the holiday is over but Emily's freedom begins. The formula for this 98% 1st go pass was lots of lessons and more practise on top. The more the better and Karma prevails. For those following, the two errors were both not having the full 5 secs of indicator pulling out from the kerb but the rest was perfect. Congrats Emily. Good luck with Year 12.

02.01.2022 100. Tegan Secomb. St Columba graduate. I'm happy to get the hundred up and a week of rain started today. That didn't bother Tegan because she drives very well. Tegan is the 50th this year to use the Subaru Impreza in their test. A 1st go 98% pass. Congrats Tegan!!!

02.01.2022 THE WRX SO FAR. More than anything else, I purchased it for the Subaru seats which suit my chronic back. The only Subaru model that comes in manual.... An out there vehicle for learners but the fact is, any car can drive fast if you push it. Only 30% do manual now so why buy this?? Ive seen the looks but this car can be driven safely and slowly like any other car. Very solid, very safe and modern. Most have passed 1st go. 100% today. Congrats to all. I hope the results help back the decision. The only thing left? A girl to pass in it. All boys so far. Wait and see.

01.01.2022 48. Hugh Grainger. Port High Year 11. I have two Graingers going at the moment. I drove to the wrong one last lesson and turned up very late for the right one, Hugh. Not a problem for Hugh. Happy go lucky and hes just purchased a very flash Holden Calai, his pride and joy. Brilliant, smooth driving with me in the pride and joy followed by the same in his test today.... 97% 1st go. Congrats Hugh. Thanks for the photo. See you on the road. See more

01.01.2022 75. Odessa Bylund. Port High Year 11. Odessa did her test simultaneously with Mia. That's been happening a lot lately. Odessa is a great manual driver and it was fun seeing both Mia and Odessa get passed simultaneously.... Congrats Odessa. Thanks so much for the photo!!! Great to be there when you got the well deserved result!!! See more

01.01.2022 104. Hannah Freeman. Regional Year 12. The middle of the day traffic is like peak hour as the tourists flock in. That didn't bother Hannah who drives beautifully. All easy lessons with very few mistakes. A 100% 1st go pass to cap off a great week. Congrats Hannah. Great driving and I'm having my first week-end off in months.

01.01.2022 WHAT BREED(S) IS NIKKI. POUND RESCUE. Listed as Kelpie. What else?? Have a guess. I would like to know what you think. Sorry no prize. Bit of fun. Have a go. DNA result back from the U.S. I know. It took ages to get this result but very interesting.... Result a bit later. See more

01.01.2022 73. Jack Lewis. Camden Haven Year 11. Almost 3 years to the day, older brother Tom who had ambitions to be a fighter pilot achieved a 1st go 100% pass at Port. Tom is currently a recruit at A.D.F.A. Canberra studying to become a fighter pilot. Well Jack has the same ambition and also like Tom drives very well. A 96% 1st go pass at Port today. A Lewis double!! Congrats Jack.... Good luck and hope to hear you're at A.D.F.A. in a year or two. Ambitions/dreams can be achieved. Go for it!!!! See more

01.01.2022 54. Cooper Herden. Westport High Year 12. Plenty of lessons with Cooper. He didnt need them all. A very safe and competent driver now. A 98% 1st go pass at Port in our beautiful warm weather. Congrats Cooper. Great driving and good luck with the trials and H.S.C.

01.01.2022 50. Kaia Glassie. Newman Year 11. New testers are unpredictable. Thats what we have at the moment but Kaia like every other sporty person Ive had drives fine. Very good co-ordination, balance and reflexes. A 1st go 98% pass at Port on a cold rainy day. Congrats Kaia following Elia from 2 years back and good luck to the Sharks.

01.01.2022 68. Lachlan Wallace. Regional Year 11. An 8am start for a 9.15am test this morning in Lachlans big rig. He was given an error before he drove out on seat position. Not a great start but thats how it is now. The tester could only find 4 more errors because Lachlan is an excellent safe driver. 95% manual 1st go.... Congrats Lachlan and thanks for the photo and scoresheet!!!! See more
