25.01.2022 Very informative presentation on Maximising My Independence by Carol Hillman guest speaker from COTA (Council on the Ageing). Carol spoke on the many areas COTA works in providing information and support programmes including assistance with my aged care. This Workshop was organised by the Port Elliot Computing Centre yesterday afternoon to help the community to be informed on issues that may affect them.

18.01.2022 Further easing of Step 2 restrictions in South Australia have been announced: INTERSTATE TRAVEL From midnight 16 June 2020: Travellers entering South Aust...ralia directly from Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory will no longer be required to quarantine for 14 days. For those currently in quarantine who arrived directly from WA, TAS and the NT can end their quarantine from midnight 16 June, regardless of how long they have been in SA. Travellers arriving from all other states and territories will still be required to quarantine for 14 days . Quarantine requirements for other states and territories will be eased on 20 July. INDOOR GROUP FITNESS CLASSES From Friday 19 June 2020: If space only allows for 1 person 4 square metres, indoor group fitness classes remain limited to 10 people. If space allows for 1 person per 7 square metres, indoor group fitness classes can have up to 20 people.



15.01.2022 Reduce your risk of heart disease - Learn the warning signs of a heart attack. One helpful tip learnt from the presentation was, when calling 000 for an ambulance do not hang up wait for the operator’s instruction. On average 20 Australians die from heart attack every day. Many could have been prevented. Presentation was by Charlie Sheridan from the Heart Foundation on Wednesday 11 March, organised by the Port Elliot Uniting Church Computing Centre.
