25.01.2022 A busy, and hot day removing some old rusty structural steel, to replace with shiny new stuff. I can do small concrete jobs as well it looks like.

20.01.2022 I finally got to play with my new Jasic Ac/dc high frequency TIG yesterday. Knocked up a few grab rails for my cousins new boat. Took a little bit of setting up as I haven't TIG welded aluminium in years. I still have the skills thank god.

20.01.2022 A big day on site for Antech construction Friday. Preparing a Queenslander for moving. Welding in all the support beams and PFCs .

20.01.2022 A great day at Manly welding for Allen bros Construction. Swinging in beams, extending columns and bearer brackets and a bit of subteraniam work. Thanks Kurt Allen for always making my day interesting. I love working with you guys. Always professional and we'll organised.

20.01.2022 A nice little job for my Wife . She's has been at me for months to get this done. Unfortunately for her my clients come first. The next job for Wifey will be a big custom slider for the front driveway.

20.01.2022 Another lovely day on the bay. Working on Coochiemudlo doing some maintenance at the dump. Repairing rubber skirts, broken hinges and cracked out roof columns. Never a dull moment !

19.01.2022 The local bloke I did the bow rails for was so happy with the price and quality of my work he wanted a long range fuel cell retro fitted. It was a challenge contorting myself into all funny positions to fabricate and weld this job. I also modified the Stainless Steel tank to do the job. Resituating filler neck, breathers and sender unit. Saturday work. Living the dream.

18.01.2022 Saturday job building some bow rails for a local fellow on his new pride and joy. First time for me. I love a challenge to get my mind ticking.

17.01.2022 Having fun with my under 9 soccer team for their presentation night. Great work Barcelona.

17.01.2022 Another HQ Monaro gearbox cross member modified. Even the new reproduction original parts aren't correct. A little height adjustment to suit a Muncie 4sp and original 350cui Chev. The box mount sat too low in the saddle not allowing enough room for the gear shift linkages to move without hitting the cross member. Problem solving engineering is what I enjoy doing. Challenges create growth.

16.01.2022 I would love to build something like this one day. Full custom pipework and big arse turbo or Procharger on the Buick.

16.01.2022 This weekends job. Electrolysis holes in hull to be drilled out and welded up. More aluminum boats to come next weekend.

14.01.2022 Installed some rigging points on a earthmover trailer for a 3 tonne bobcat. Saturday morning fun.

14.01.2022 An enjoyable morning TIG welding in retro fit door lock mechanisms , in a model A Ford. Tidy restoration on a original steel body ute. I love working with old cars and meeting and chatting with their just as cool owners.

13.01.2022 Yesterdays little adventure to Macleay Island to do some aluminum handrail repairs on the flyer gangway. It was a beautiful day on the bay. Hopefully this is a new ongoing contract on behalf of the Redland City Council.

12.01.2022 Helping a mate erect his poolside gazebo. Dumpy off the hights ,jacking nuts and grout underneath to stop salt corrosion on the base plates. Nice little Saturday job.

11.01.2022 Back at college trying to get my 3e ticket. Nothing like 8hrs of welding at work ,then 3.5 hrs of welding at college. Dedicated tradesman that I am. :-)

10.01.2022 I'm back filling in some days fabricating aluminum at OLC Thorneside. These guys have some of the highest quality finishes for gates, privacy screens and architectural aluminum on the market. No grind marks,and tight fit ups. These are some Machine room ventilation screens I'm working on atm .

10.01.2022 A sub-frame clean up on a XY 4wd falcon ute. As you can see the original job was quite dodgy and I'm not quite sure how it was actually staying in place. A bit of grinding, hammer work and some sheet metal made all the difference.

09.01.2022 Not the best of days to be TIG welding in the shed. I can't have a fan on or the doors fully open as to not blow my shield gas away. The things I go through to get a quality weld and finish on a 35c day.

08.01.2022 Back to doing subbie work for Old lace castings and metal design this week. Aluminium is whati did my apprenticeship with so it's like a first language for me. Hot and fast welding suits my style.

08.01.2022 I used to love fabricating and welding out big engineering jobs like this. From under ground mining equipment and structures, to oil platforms and sub sea drilling rigs. Ahh the good old days of a young Boilermaker.

08.01.2022 Slinging some 310UB 40 and 250 PFCs and welding into place on a big 60square house at Bulimia. First time I've had a little walk behind city crane on site. Cute little fella.

07.01.2022 A fair bit of time and thought went into this job. The client wanted this gearbox cross member as close to original as possible except for the height was wrong for the Muncie 4sp. I have posted the original pictures before but you can see the transition from the condition it was given to me in, to my finished product. Hopefully this will add more value to the HQ Monaro 4 door. You can't buy many original parts for these classic cars anymore, so refurbishment or remanufacture is the only option.

05.01.2022 A dye penetrant test reveals all little cracks. Repairs to a mates aluminum boat. Looks like it cops a hiding. drill out the ends of the cracks and weld in a patch. Weld it up next weekend.

03.01.2022 Nearly finished another job for Urban Sector builders at the Coolangata Ambulance station. The Engineer went a bit OTT on the wall support, but it's keeping me busy.

02.01.2022 I'm Modifing a HQ Monaro gearbox cross member for a client. It had been butchered a few times for different gearboxes. He wants it brought back to as close to original as possible whilst dropping the mount height by 10-15 mm to suit a Saginaw 4sp. It has been a bit of stuffing around cutting and sectioning to allow the structure to flow as if it were a pressed piece of steel. I love a challenge. These pictures are of the progress. I will post a few pictures of the finished item when I get it back from its trial fit up.

02.01.2022 Another victim to metal fatigue . Constant bashing on the center chine at the impact zone takes its toll on aluminium. It work hardens then cracks.
