06.01.2022 This remarkable dram comes from the final 22 casks of the legacy stock distilled back in 1985 by a previous generation of Bruichladdich stillmen. It's the second of three releases in the Bruichladdich Rare Cask Series, next to the 1984/32 Bourbon. Head distiller, Adam Hannett, describes the collection as "The last of their kind", matured for over thirty years under the watchful eye of three generations of distillers.... He adds, They are some of the most symbolic whiskies I have worked with and they are profoundly important to me. They are as old as I am." Originally filled into third fill Bourbon casks, Jim McEwan discovered the whisky in 2012 (hence the name, "Hidden Glory!") McEwan re-casked it into fresh bourbon barrels and in 2017 Adam Hannett finished the spirit in a French oak claret cask from a top Bordeaux chateaux. A release of 4,200 bottles, with many vying to collect the series, we have less than a handful to sell.

02.01.2022 Two more gins from Antagonist Spirits to add to our shelves this week. The Half-cut Gin starts with a Wheat-based spirit, double juniper (about 60% total botanical weight) then fresh cut, hand-harvested Kikuyu grass (Pennisetum clandestinum) between 10-17cms are rushed to the production line after approx 5 hours of being picked stem by stem. Literally stem by stem...... Other botanical are the usual suspects of Coriander seeds, Oris Roots, Angelica Roots and sweet oranges. In what is the Navy Strength follow up to Hard Cut by the Antagonist Spirits lads - the Directors Cut arrives Spring in a bottle!
