25.01.2022 Not long to go until our November event! This will be our last event for 2020, and we will start up again in Feb 2021. We already have some bookings for November, but we still have time spots available for the following repairs:... bikes, jewellery, IT, mechanical, knife sharpening, electrical and general household items. 25.01.2022 We are very excited to have a specialist repairer on hand this Sunday..... Liz Gannon will be available to do touch ups and repairs on your paintings..... as well as upholstery, sewing and furniture repairs. How lucky are we?

21.01.2022 Time to book your place! We have been working behind the scenes to figure out how to safely run our Repair Caf on Saturday 18th July. Due to the limited number of people we can have in the two indoor spaces at the Port Fairy Community House, we are introducing a booking system for our July event. Please either send a message to our Facebook page, email us at [email protected] or call the Community House on (03) 5568 2681 and let us know what item you would like t...o have fixed/repaired. Dont forget your contact details so we can let you know whether we can fit you in, and what time your repair is booked in for. NO BOOKING = NO REPAIR We will have the following fixers ready to go: - Bikes: E.g. tyre puncture, a clunky gear or a wonky wheel - Wood/Metal: E.g. an item that needs gluing or a new screw - IT: E.g. Computer/laptop not booting, virus problems, email not working - General electrical/mechanical: E.g. a loose connection, misaligned switch - Jewellery: E.g. necklace needs a new clasp - Musical Instruments: E.g. Windwood/brass instrument fixing, guitar/ukulele restringing & tuning (byo strings!)



21.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that we will starting the Port Fairy Repair Cafe in the next few months..... We are putting a call out for volunteer fixers and supporters and are holding info sessions on Thursday 23rd Jan. Please spread the word!

19.01.2022 If you are wondering what kinds of things you can bring to be fixed at the very first Repair Cafe, heres a list to get you thinking :-) - A toaster, sandwich press or hair dryer - A bike with a tyre puncture or something not quite right! - A necklace with a missing clasp... - Your favourite pair of pants with a hole or tear - Your laptop that wont start up - Issues with your mobile phone, for eg email not working - Knives or secateurs that need sharpening - A skirt that needs re-hemming - Battery operated toys - A bag that needs repairing - A garden hedger - Ear rings missing a hook - Headphone not working - Garden tools that need fixing And lots more! Bring your windwood and brass instruments to be fixed by Brendan this coming Saturday. Also, if your guitar or ukulele needs restringing, bring your new strings and Peter will put your new strings on for you. Saturday 21st March 10am-1pm Port Fairy Community House. All welcome :-)

11.01.2022 We are so very lucky to have fantastic, generous volunteer fixers! This is an interview with our fabulous bike repairer Bruce Anders. Bruce has been fixing bikes for 50 years! The interview was from our last Repair Event in July - we are hoping to re-open in November. Apologies for the blurry bits in the video!

07.01.2022 So great to be backing fixing, repairing and making fantastic community connections yesterday at the Port Fairy Repair Cafe. Thank you to everyone who came and made it so much fun! Wonderful to see lots of new faces... lots of people from the Market popping up to see what was going on! We were VERY busy with lots of bikes to service and repair... 2 mowers, jewellery, statues, a TV, mix master, electric fan, CD/Cassette player as well as loads of knife, secateur and garden to...ol sharpening. Huge thanks to all our wonderful volunteers! See you in February next year for our next event.

07.01.2022 Greetings to all from the Port Fairy Repair Cafe. If you find yourself spending more time at home than usual, keep an eye out for items that need fixing, and bring them to the next repair cafe event. Better still, make a list of things to get fixed, and stick it on your fridge!
