25.01.2022 The Port Fairy Tennis Club was fortunate to recently receive a Sporting Club Grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria. The grant went towards the purchase of tennis balls for use at our Fast 4 social doubles competition on Wednesday nights. Importantly, this support from the Victorian Government helps to keep our costs down and to encourage more people to enjoy the sport of tennis. It was fantastic to see a full house at our first session for 2021, including some who have returned to tennis for the first time in a few years. Hope to see you all there again next week! 25.01.2022 So yesterday we finally had the concrete bases poured for our lighting towers. Thanks to Coast to Country Building Approvals , David Schwann and Darren McDonald for the fencing and digging works and MCP for pumping the concrete. A massive thankyou for Sean, Nigel and Damon from our committee and the Moyne Shire Council for tying it all together and getting the job done. Without the financial support from the Moyne Shire Community assitance grant, the Gwen and Edna Jones & Uebergang and Archie and Hilda Graham Foundation and the Port Fairy Folk festival committee this part of our redevelopment project would have not happened this year. A final thanks to our new sponsors Allen Plumbing and Coast to Country Building Approvals . Their new signs are displayed on centre court

20.01.2022 6 years ago today someone said Lets have a meeting and see if we can resurrect the tennis club in Port Fairy .. Our first committee was formed and look whats happened since... *Hundreds of kids have started playing tennis *Heaps of kids and families have had the chance to have FANTASTIC experiences at the Australian Open... *Adults have been invigorated to pick up a racquet and start playing again. *We have a super coach...we just need the weather to be nice on a Monday! *We have gone from a club with no playable courts and no structure to: **Having 4 great courts with new cyclone proof fencing and windbreak. **Soon to have 2 courts fully lit with competition standard lighting. None of this would have been possible without Tennis Victoria, Moyne Shire Council, Pacific Hydro,Port Fairy & District Community Bank Branch, Port Fairy Folk Festival,@ Jones and Uebergang foundations and our fantastic club sponsors.

Luckily the weather is not looking great for tennis this week anyway. Once we re-open, there will be new covid restrictions.

11.01.2022 Below is the booking link for TENNIS LESSONS IN TERM 1. We have had Josh working hard all summer and after a short break he will start again with the Term 1 program. All classes are to be BOOKED ONLINE using the link below and this year we have a new system which is much easier to manage as this enables swift payment and refunds and tracking of lessons. Additionally it allows Josh to trade under the club and not have to pay an itinerant traders fee to work here in Port Fairy.... Josh will let classes know their times once he has the groups planned. We are asking you to enrol in the age group and ball color that is relevant to your child/ children. If you have a tennis profile already you will just have to sign in to start. IF you do not have a tennis profile, you will need to make one in the first steps. If you have any issues with this please email the club. The junior program is as follows: MONDAY - Coaching and junior cardio tennis. SATURDAY - Ministars for 3-5 yo -Community Play for 5-7 year olds that have not had coaching previously. -Coaching 7+ We are also hoping to run a Tennis for Teens program, so if you have interested teens please let us know. Additionally any one wanting private lessons with Josh can arrange the times directly with Josh. If you are partaking in private lessons, the court booking is YOUR responsibility not Josh's and paid members will have free court booking as usual. Booking a court is super easy via our website or booking widget. Please confirm your private lesson time with Josh and make the court booking for the time of your lesson each week. 11.01.2022 Q: Do I need to wear a face covering when I play TENNIS (community sport)? A: You dont need to wear a face covering while undertaking strenuous exercise or playing sport. You do have to carry a face covering with you so you can wear it before or after exercising, unless you have a lawful exception. AND YOU STILL NEED TO HAVE CLEAN HANDS AND SANITIZE AT THE GATE PLEASE.

Peter could come and assist at short notice and so this morning this happened. We will keep the courts closed until we have all the wiring connected, but we should be open again very soon....
