21.01.2022 Port Fairy Theatre Group will be hosting...... a SHORT PLAY WRITING WORKSHOP for all budding playwrights. With special thanks to the Port Fairy & District Community Bank Branch this workshop will be held Sunday 1st December, 10am-5pm Community Services Centre- $40 The workshop will be run by Jim Lawson, an established playwright and theatre maker. ... No experience is needed. This workshop is a great opportunity to write that play you've always wanted to. Start from scratch, extend on an idea or complete something you've already started. This workshop is also a lead up to our Short Play Festival held mid-late June 2020. Jim will also act as a dramaturge providing feedback on plays any submitted by Dec 31st 2019. 17.01.2022 Following the success of our recent production- Aesop’s (oh so slightly updated )Fables , Port Fairy Theatre Group has donated $1500 to the Red Cross Fire Emergency Appeal. A huge ‘well done’ and thank you to our wonderful young actors for their effort and performances. We’ve had great feed back. Thanks also to the supportive parents, and St Patrick’s and Consolidated staff for their help. Thanks also to our wonderful PF community for supporting us in this... new venture. See more
16.01.2022 2020 SHORT PLAY FESTIVAL Port Fairy Theatre Group invites submissions of short play scripts (up to 15 minutes in length) to be considered for inclusion in its season of short plays to be performed over the weekend of 19th, 20th, 21st June 2020 and as part of the Winter Weekends Port Fairy #2 Main Submission Guidelines 1. The writers must come from or have a strong connection to the Port Fairy area. 2. There is no set theme or genre for scripts.... 3. Scripts must be the entrant’s original work and must not have been performed elsewhere prior to the 2020 PFTG short play season. 4. A maximum of one script will be accepted from any one writer. 5. Copyright remains with the writer, but permission is given for Port Fairy Theatre Group to perform the play as part of its 2020 short play season. PFTG also reserves the right to record the performances and offer these recordings for sale, with acknowledgement of authorship. The final closing date for submission of scripts is Friday 6 March 2020 after which a panel including experienced writers and directors will then select the best scripts for inclusion in the 2020 season of short plays.
