25.01.2022 Do you use your Formal Dining Room? During our first Covid lockdown period we decided to convert our formal dining room off the kitchen into a Butlers Pantry. The idea had been talked about for some time and the practicalities, timing and feeling of wasting a perfectly good room stopped us taking the leap. The formal dining room was always the "special party room" when the kids were younger and it was for Birthday's or Christmas but as everyone got bigger it seemed impracti...cal with more than 6 people in it. When styling customers homes for sale I noticed many homes from the 80's 90's especially, had the formal dining room and we usually style them as something else, like a music room, media room or library. Nobody wanted 2 Tables in the house. Most people entertain larger groups outdoors. Most home owners want open plan and easy entertaining. That got me thinking about the need for a formal dining space. Essentially the room had become redundant and although I loved the room the feel and decor that we had, all I did was dust it or use it store the pretty things. One day my son said "are we eating in the fancy eating room" and the penny dropped... We don't need it anymore. It's ok to let go, it's not wasteful or bad to change things up. It's in the perfect position off the kitchen, so with a few minor alterations, to the window size, we added water for a large butlers sink, a wine fridge, and dishwasher, an enormous extra panty cupboard with doors and a ton of open shelves. Now it's a sanctuary for the hungry all the appliances are there in easy reach, the kitchen is 2 steps away and the mess and clutter is out of sight. I can buy in bulk now and store, very good during Covid and I probably save money by shopping this way. The dishwasher can't be heard over the TV in the next room and just cutting flowers or prepping dinner is now easy and relaxing I have a place to hide and my own music playing. Helping people make decisions with room layout during DIY planning for sale it is so surprising how many never liked something about their home but never considered changing it.

06.01.2022 It may not look like a big deal to many but this empty disability home needed to be furnished and fully set up before Christmas to accept some clients. We had a 2 week lead time. Its Christmas and nobody carries stock and everyone has finished taking orders. Trucks are booked but after a few mad shopping trips, lots of favours returned and voila ! One day .. everyone turned up with the right product at the right time.. A true Christmas Miracle and a great gang of suppliers really going the extra mile. Thank you & Merry Christmas
