11.01.2022 Thank you to Ryhs Wehr from 1st Point Electrical for helping with relocating the bundle of wires and modems from a table in the kitchen. A very tidy wall mounted screen and wireless mouse are part of the early stages of setting up a full kitchen. Earlier in the week PCG received support from Mirtschin Plumbing in preparation to connect the new kitchen to the town water supply. Big thank you also to Wannon Water for their considerable support. These jobs are being done as PCG continues to raise the additional funding to complete the project. We are very grateful for the ongoing support of local business and organisations including Pacific Hydro and Wannon Water.

03.01.2022 Just another perfect day at PCG. The Grow Dig volunteers headed by our very own Brooke King spent time this afternoon planting out raised plots in the Urban Farm. I love Portland and the amazing people who make things happen. Darcy and Eden King also harvest about 1000 compost worms for the Portland North School.

03.01.2022 A strong community is made of many parts and today the PCG was dotted with volunteers all over the garden space with activities planting and planning and potting up. One solitary volunteer was also in our workshop. Len Marshall pictured rebuilding a small trailer donated by the McFarlane clan. We have a Mig Welder donated by retired fisherman John Sealey which needed some serious adjustments this morning. When you need help with all things metal you call Jamie Yappa Pridham. Yappa got us up and running. So you can see there is a lot going on at PCG and gardening as well. 81 Henty Street Portland. Come down and see how it all works.

02.01.2022 SUFM came to the PCG today and they were awesome. Scripture Union Family Mission are a group of young people who simply offered to help the CG with clearing Ivy from along Henty Street entrance ready for planting indigenous trees and shrubs. Anyone who has ever tried pulling up Ivy from the ground and 2 metres up in the existing trees knows how tough it is. These guys just blitzed it and talked and laughed all afternoon. Dale, Lily, Emma, Lauren, Scarlett, Alen, Nathan you were an absolute pleasure to work with.

02.01.2022 Motorbike needs a new home. Work needed to rectify electrics. $100 donation to Community Garden. Talk to Wayne Barrett or Len Marshall for information and inspection. Wayne 0419351558

01.01.2022 Big thank you to Bryden Ralph for his ongoing support of our community garden. Some great overhead photos again from the drone. Really shows off the work that went into fitting a square bird net over a curved orchard layout. The urban farm is ready for spring with new raised beds. Well worth a drive through if you have not visited for a while.

01.01.2022 Yes we went to Hammonds and to ACE Sheetmetal and Matt Garner BOC Weldgas to rebuild the trailer donated by the McFarlane clan. We are inching closer to our goal thanks to a very supportive community. Portland and our community garden is a great place to live, work and play. Thank also to Len Marshall a volunteer who makes it happen everyday.
