21.01.2022 Members from Portland Fire Brigade, Cashmore Fire Brigade and Heathmere fire Brigade assisted SES last night with Flood damage in the Portland area. The CFA crews were tasked with water removal and assessing flooded buildings. Portland SES received around 100 calls within a three hour period ranging from flood damage and roof damage, additional SES crew from Hamilton, Port Fairy, Heywood and Dartmoor were called in to assist with sand bags and roof damage. A big thank you you our members who turned out to assist. SES commander was very impressed in the way our crews approached each job and the efficient way our crews from CFA worked to deal with each situation. Well done to all volunteers involved.

08.01.2022 We want to reassure the community, CFA is continuing to respond to emergencies and deliver core services as we have always done. We have temporarily scaled non-essential face-to-face events, training and meetings to protect the health of our members and staff, these measures are only precautionary and won’t impact our delivery of vital services. Please don’t be alarmed if you see us in the community wearing extra PPE. This is being done to protect us all and will not change the level of care we will always provide.
