19.01.2022 Mel March 2019 A perfect combination of modern accomodation and amenities with beautiful country outlook and wildlife. Hosts Barbara and Ian were awesome, going above and beyond with little touches and good local knowledge to help us get the most out of our getaway. Will definitely be back for another stay. Highly recommended for those wanting a to escape the city/suburban life and get back to nature.

Michelle's Review April 2019 As soon as we walked in the door we knew we had made the right accommodation choice. It was so spacious, clean and welcoming. The whole family enjoyed all aspects of the house. We loved the bush land outlook, the wildlife viewing, walks, playing croquet, soccer, picking apples. Even cooking up meals was not a chore with the big stove/oven inspiring us. One n...ight we made a stew and ate it around the fire outside after making stick damper. Another night we enjoyed a BBQ before toasting marshmallows at the fire pit. Star gazing was spectacular too. It was luxury for us having TV's in bedrooms, en suite, dishwasher and the cozy fire area. It was the perfect location for day trips to the Blue Mountains, Jenolan Caves and Glow Worm Tunnel. We were so glad we did not stay in the busy tourist laden towns. After a day of hiking and sightseeing we could go home to this beautiful house - find our own chill out space and enjoy our holiday fully. Andrea March 2019 Beyond beautiful property filled with lovely wildlife. A morning coffee had never gone down so good while taking in the blissful view. The house was spotless and stay was extremely comfortable. Barbara and Ian were fantastic hosts going that extra mile to make sure everything was perfect for our stay.

07.01.2022 Thankyou to all of our guests who have booked our Secret Refuge we have had some fantastic reviews and have not had a night free since early December. We knew Portland would appeal to so many because we love where we live.

Darren C. said... 22 Oct 2018 Hands Down, the Best HomeAway/AirBnB/Stayz We've Experienced1146 Pipers Flat Rd, Portland, NSW, 2847, Australia... Date of Stay 20 Oct 2018 We stay in home/holiday rentals perhaps 15 times a year, and this was a fantastic experience. The surroundings are lovely, but the home (brand new house, all mod cons, but semi-bush rural retreat) had every level of comfort. And then those little touches that make all the difference (tea/coffee supplies, ultrasoft towels and bedding, quality kitchen utensils, some A/C, lovely outdoor areas, dishwasher, dryer, etc etc etc). Bird feeders ensured plenty of colourful visitors, roos and wallabies everywhere, even a sandpit and toys for our toddlers. Barb went out of her way to guide us to her place, ensure we were comfortable, provide other support and information, yet was completely unobtrusive. We've stayed in some spectacular places overlooking escarpments, the sea, cities etc...but this place will remain long in the memory for going above and beyond.
