25.01.2022 In an update to Club and Association Presidents this afternoon, SACA reiterated the SA Government's announcement that community sport training and matches (indoor and outdoor) can recommence tomorrow (Tuesday 1 December 2020). While there's not yet any specific information on 'modified programme of fixtures', the most significant change confirmed by the Premier today was the requirement for all organisations with a COVID Safe Plan, including sporting clubs, to utilise a QR ...Code system to support Contact Tracing. All Clubs are required to have a COVID Safe Plan already in place and from tonight you will receive an email that includes a QR Code to print off and display in a prominent location in your club. SACA's current understanding is that anyone attending your club (both outdoors and indoors) for training and matches must check in using the mySA GOV app to scan your club’s QR code or by hard copy for those without a phone. Both these items must be clearly visible at all relevant venues. The email sent to Clubs also includes social media images you can post to get the message out to club members, and as always, there are resources on the SACA 'Return to Play' website below to help you and your club's return to training and games. You can find them all below.

19.01.2022 Dear Club and Association Presidents, This communication is to provide you an update on the changed conditions for cricket in South Australia following the statements made this morning by the Premier, Chief Public Health Officer and Police Commissioner. What we know now is that individuals and members of the same household can exercise together outside effective immediately. This does not include club training or match fixtures.... From Sunday, the law will be eased to a similar set of restrictions to those in place on Monday 16 November. However, the Police Commissioner was unable to advise of the effect of these changes on community sport. We are awaiting further advice and the formal direction from the Police Commissioner before sharing guidance on return to play. SACA will update you at that time. Cheers Shane Bernhardt General Manager Community Cricket

06.01.2022 Dear Club and Association Presidents, We are writing in regards to Premier Steven Marshall’s announcement late yesterday in relation to the management of the current COVID outbreak in SA. All outdoor and indoor community sport matches and training sessions have been cancelled for the next 14 days. Further advice will be provided in due course.... This announcement includes all levels of community cricket in SA, including premier, community club, school competitions and Woolworths Cricket Blast programs. We encourage clubs and associations to pause their Woolworths Cricket Blast program over this period with a view to extend the program further into December where possible. If association administrators require any guidance in relation to how handle the changes to their schedule, please contact your SACA Area Manager or Cricket Manager. SACA staff will work from home effective immediately and have been instructed not to undertake any unnecessary travel over the next 14 days. SACA staff have been advised to meet with stakeholders virtually and we encourage clubs and associations that have scheduled meetings over the next two weeks to either postpone their meeting or do so electronically if possible. SA Health has highlighted a number of venues of concern and any person that has visited these venues should follow the relevant direction to seek testing, self-isolate and monitor for symptoms. Details of these locations are available on the SA Health website here. We appreciate that there is a level of uncertainty being faced by our clubs and associations. The health and wellbeing of our cricket community is our key priority and we thank you for observing the government advice which is available here. SACA will continue to provide updates as information is made available and we encourage you to contact your Area Manager or Cricket Manager if you require anything further at this stage. Thank you once again for your efforts in continuing to provide a COVID-safe environment for all South Australians. Please stay safe and well. Regards, Shane Bernhardt General Manager Community Cricket

02.01.2022 Congrats to the Round 3 Grand Tasman Hotel Player of the Week, Marley Butler from Lincoln South Cricket Club. Playing in the A Grade match against Tod River, Marley hit 41 in a 98-run partnership with Greg Symonds (66) before claiming 5/28 with the ball to steer Souths to a comfortable win.
