23.01.2022 WHAT A LOVELY FUN DAY at the Ladies themed Fours day at Port MacDonnell Bowling Club today. This year's theme was the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. The Club was decorated beautifully with this in mind by Sharon Bruhn. Tournament organisers Jenni Tilley and crew once again made the bowls challenging with four different games of 9 ends each. Winners of the first game which featured a full length end followed by a short end with fixed kitties was Portland's Lyn Alexander, Shirle...y Millard, Kerrie Alexander and Robyn Pumpa. The double points game saw Naracoorte's Mary Kirkland, Colleen Fox, Bev King and Denise Amey. The 4,3,2,1 third game saw Penola's Ros Taylor, Pam Davies, Pt Mac's Roma Henderson and Kathy Brooks take the prize and the last game where a power play could be called on 1 end and your score doubled if you won the end was won by the Mount Gambier RSL side of Nancy Horrigan, Barb Winterfield, Carmel McQuade and Veronica Opie. The overall Winners of the day were Barb Milstead, Mount Gambier, Jan Dowdell, Joy Bilney and Heather Richards. Well done to all winning teams. Photos of winning team below, more photos will be displayed over the next few days.

11.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to Chris Richards who won the LSEBA's Men's Champion of Champions title at Beachport today. He won over Penola and Kalangadoo and then played Robert Corner from Mount Gambier RSL in the final where the spectators were treated to a very good match with a close finish. Heather Richards defeated Helen Vawser from Kingston in her first match and then met Jenny Bowering from Mount Gambier RSL who bowled extremely well and took the win. Jennie played Jill Preston... in the final and finished the match with a good win to take the women's title. Our Division 1 Ladies Pennant team took the win on Friday and advanced straight into the grand final. The Saturday Open team was not able to defeat Mount Gambier at Naracoorte and their season has come to an end. There is still some great bowling ahead with Triples and Fours Champion of Champions to be played.
