22.01.2022 YAY.....IT'S SEMI FINALS TIME - Due to the number of washout games having to be rescheduled and/or doubled up from original dates, we have decided to exclude the Qualification Rule this summer (as per attached pic from our Competition Guidelines). We realise it is beyond players/organisers control, so the main thing is that only paid & registered players take the field to avoid teams forfeiting their finals position. It will only be the players who have been replaced that obviously will not qualify. Draw will be posted later on today once Referees availability is confirmed.

BUT this is a directive from AO & to avoid the risk of being shut down, it is our responsibility to enforce it. PLEASE DO NOT abuse our officials OR Covid Officers, if we ask you to leave or watch from the car, just do so in an orderly manner as they are just doing their job. Should this continue to hap...pen, we will have no choice but to have Referees stop games until their spectators leave. NOT TO BE WORN - NO Jewellery/Watches/Fitbits/Hard Peaked Caps & so on - they are not necessary & deemed unsafe during oztag so leave them at home or in your car so you don't lose them. We are all aware of these rules in our sport so if asked to remove them, please simply do so with no arguments. There were a number of questions this week about the extra line marked (done for touch & their dead ball line) being confusing. Port Macquarie-Hastings Council had informed us prior to kick off that this would be the case whilst we share the fields so unfortunately how it has to be. Easiest thing to do is look for the white corner markers when scoring a try, as there is nothing we can do about that line being there at this stage. 15.01.2022 DAY 3 RESULTS And it is a wrap for our 2021 State Cup 4 Sharks teams: GREAT NEWS - With 3 of our 4 teams making it through to quarters & semis on Sunday, we managed to follow through with 20s Women competing in their Division 2 GRAND FINAL only going down 2-1 to Baulkham Hills in an exciting extra time! CONGRATS to these young ones who will no doubt be celebrating this awesome achievement & the experience for weeks to come. Our Senior mixed & 30s Mens were unfortunate to m...iss out in their last game on being Semi Finals. Our 45s Mens missed out on Sunday games, but played outstanding during their round games. To all our teams, we were competitive across the board which shows in our results & though the tournament was a long time coming it was certainly a very enjoyable one for players/spectators & our referees! Speaking of REFEREES We are so proud of all their efforts & to Dane Dickson congrats for receiving selection come Grand final time, this is also an amazing achievement! 14.01.2022 HUMP DAY 2020 STATE CUP DEBRIEF - Following a few days of slowly coming down off our high of the weekend, I would just like to make mention of a few things that... come to mind on behalf of @Tamworth Senior Oztag & Port Macquarie Senior Oztag after so much excitement for us all in Coffs Harbour! Firstly to Australian Oztag NSW Oztag @Bill Harrigan Vicki Padwick & the rest of the team at head office for an amazing tournament ran under such difficult circumstances & restrictions. Countless hours were spent for you guys to make it happen, & we want you to know it doesn't go un-noticed & we appreciate your effort. This event will go down as special for us, the fact that we were able to still field 11 teams between the Taipans & Sharks after a long 12 months since initial selections. To the Zone system & AM/PM sessions - Nothing but positive feedback from all of our people involved over the weekend. Knowing they could not only get a park where they played, but be aware in advance of when they could make plans for some family time, the beach or just simply relaxing in the opposite session. Feedback was so positive & would be happy to stick with this system when we finally get back to some sort of normality. We cannot wait for the day we can have our supporters back, as they would know who/when & where to follow the other teams. To our Coaches/Managers & players who hung in there & remained committed to ensure we were able to field competitive sides after such a long wait during the unknown we say THANKYOU to all of you as it makes our job so much easier & YOU MAKE US ALL SO PROUD TO BE PART OF THESE CLUBS! It appears I am the Players Pool Queen, so thanks to Vicki Padwick for your patience with me! So a massive shout out to those pool players from all over, who contributed to our success in 2020! 13.01.2022 IMPORTANT WET WEATHER INFO - Please be mindful that our competition co-ordinators Claire & Nathan work full time, so on wet days simply keep an eye on our FB page for updates, be patient & hold off on messaging throughout the day, With the numerous number of calls/messages we get on rainy/stormy days, please understand it is impossible to respond. If council close fields early, it is easy....we can post early on FB & message delegates to pass onto players by 3pm ...or even earlier. If it is a late storm (which happens a lot), we like to leave it as late as possible to give us all the best chance to play. On these days decision by 5pm to allow for those travelling. Unfortunately some days we have to make the call when we have already started games & those calls are made dependant on heavy rain/lightning/dangerous conditions OR simply to avoid tearing up our much needed fields. For now, nothing changes - Between now & when we break at Christmas our current guidelines of NO SPECTATORS will remain in place! We will see out 2020 this way & welcome in the 2021 NEW YEAR, allowing spectators to return from our 1st game back in January. In the mean time, we will be upda...ting our Covid Safety Plan & organising QR Codes for every field (including the Admin & current Covid Desk) where ALL spectators will have to register. PLEASE adhere to our decision to continue our NO SPECTATOR POLICY for the next couple of weeks only, & be respectful of our Covid Safety Officers if they ask you to leave. 03.01.2022 The re-planning begins! TAG FIELDS CLOSED! Unfortunately all Council sporting grounds are closed indefinitely due to the amount of rain that Port Macquarie has had of late. There is a prospect that fields will re-open in late January. ... We are sorry to inform our players, referees and officials that our Summer Competition WILL NOT be resuming on the 18th of January as previously planned. We are hoping that the 25th of January may be our NEW STARTING date. Please note that when we do return, the draw will be restructured to incorporate doubled up 20 minute games in an effort to catch up games missed.
