24.01.2022 What a day. Overcast and raining. But just like that just before we were about to start it stopped raining and was pleasant. Some waves to be ridden and some waves to jump. Overall not a bad day. First bbq back. Thank you parent helpers that assisted with the bbq today. It was very much appreciated by those who indulged. It was a little tedious having to wait a for sausage in age groups but now we know the process hopefully it will be a little soother. Well done to all of t...he age groups that practised patient assessment. Just by turning someone on their side you can save a life. Got some great shots of diving for the flag - awesome job everyone. The under 6 showed their strength with the tug of war. Hopefully you’ll all be at the beach next week. See you then - Belinda See more

24.01.2022 Team Port Melbourne LSC's 2020 Innovation, Operations Nippers, is a member wellbeing program providing a structured and supported pathway for U12 and U13 Nippers to complete before obtaining their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC). As stated on their video pitch: Operation Nippers will connect, inspire and empower." The framework is a simple yet effective program, meaning clubs can easily and confidently implement with great outcomes for the members. The program develops skills... for both Nippers and SRC members, provides pathways and a smooth transition to ensure wellbeing and retention of members. Well done Team Port Melbourne! Congratulations to: Zoe Dale, Charlotte Bree, Siena Mapley, Imogen Brodej and to the Port Melbourne LSC on their hard work. If you like this idea and want to see Operations Nippers win the 2020 Innovation Challenge, it’s time to get voting: https://bit.ly/3fFTlpD Port Melbourne Life Saving Club #bethechange #LSV2020YIC #innovation #nextgen #volunteers #youth

22.01.2022 Good morning all. Hoping to see you all at the beach this morning. Hopefully by 11.00am the weather will be in our favour. We do plan on going into the water at this stage so if you have a wet suit please bring it with you. The bbq is returning today so the parents who volunteered present yourself at the bbq by 11.00am for the cooking of the sausages. Please ensure your child is signed it at their age flag between 10.45-10.50.

22.01.2022 Final day of voting

21.01.2022 Busy day for Paul, Darrel and Belinda. Age manager training and SRC training took place. Great job guys, you all did a wonderful job.

21.01.2022 What a busy day at the club today. Although we aren’t quite ready for nippers, there was some training that took place and a number of new families picking up their items. Met Chloe who looks so relax in watching our beach. She is so exited to be part of up and coming nippers/starfish program.

21.01.2022 A friendly reminder for our Port Melbourne swimmers and beach goers

20.01.2022 2020 has been a roller coaster ride and most of us have faced new and difficult challenges. You can always find someone to talk to or listen to any problems or issues you may have. You don’t have to be alone in dealing with things. Fee free to reach out to the club throughout these times. We’re always free to listen or chat.

20.01.2022 Two sessions down still 8 more to go. Thank you parents that acknowledge our wonderful helpers and volunteers. If it wasn’t for the age managers, src’s, patrollers, lifesavers we could not offer the program to your children. We dont have to do this, we all want to do this so please remember that. Thank you to the parents that put their name down on the bbq roster. It’s great that this will take place next week. We all need to follow the COVID bbq rules which Belinda will send out in an email this week. Looking forward to seeing you all next week- Belinda.

16.01.2022 Another busy training session. 12 new SRC’s will join the ranks at our fabulous club. Please make them welcome if they have been assigned to your team.

16.01.2022 Training of age managers is going ahead today at 11.00am. Please ensure you bring your swimming gear. Pmlsc 38 Beaconsfield pde port Melbourne. Thxs Belinda.
