21.01.2022 Absolutely disgusted by @deliveroo_au ‘s behaviour last weekend. Being a small family owned pizza shop, we’re already taking a massive hit because of #covid19 but our so called partners at @deliveroo_au and @ubereats_aus are still making a killing with their 35% commission. After weeks of being quiet, we had a really busy Saturday and hats off to our team for doing their best. Deliveroo has a flawed ordering system that doesn’t let you delay orders unlike their buddies at... Uber. The poor drivers come in 9-10 minutes after an order is placed as their app tells them to and end up waiting for the food. Last weekend, we felt so bad for the drivers that we told them to sit in the shop as it was freezing outside(while keeping social distancing in mind). We even gave them a drink each as an apology for the delay and explained why the wait is so long. We all had a good laugh and it was probably the first time we’ve had conversations with the drivers as it was starting to slow down. The pizza came out of the oven and went into their Deliveroo heated bags in less than 1 minute and then to the customer. No chance for it to be cold! Stop ripping off your partners @deliveroo_au or work on a app that works better. Unfortunately, small business owners like us have to adapt to the environment we’re in as customers are moving towards delivery apps instead of in-house ordering.
