19.01.2022 A little update on our Community Garden! A relatively small patch of dirt, but we have such a lovely variety growing! Thanks to the Grow Free Garden Faries, we have tomatoes, carrots, raddishes, beans, nasturtium leaves and flowers (caught a snail in the act of enjoying a flower ), chives, silverbeet and parsley (both self-seeded), and a beautiful blooming geranium! Thank you so much to all who volunteer their time and efforts to keep the Grow Free Garden growing, and ...for those who have donated seeds/seedlings. ALL are welcome to pick the goodies that have grown. Please leave the flowers though, as they are there to let all enjoy and make our garden look pretty GROW FREE Take what you need, Give what you can . Locally grown and free . 16.01.2022 Would anyone have a replacement cap for this watering can we use at the Tree please? Or alternatively, if anyone has a watering can at home you no longer use and you'd like to rehome it at the Tree, we'd happily accept! If you can help, feel free to get in touch, or even just pop the cap/can next to our tank, which is near our Grow Free Community Garden please! 28 Brown St, Portarlington. Thank you

14.01.2022 Nature putting on a show with this beauty that was under the Tree the other day! After asking friends what it is, as I've never seen it before!, I found it was Euphorbia Wulfenii. A beautiful evergreen shrub that is quite hardy in the Australian diverse climate. Do wear gloves though and take when cutting, as it has a highly irritating milky sap! The stirking yellow flowers are just stunning! .... Thank you to the generous giver All welcome to gather the goodness under the Tree, no need to give to take. . 02.01.2022 Disappointed to see that our latest beautiful sunflower has been pulled out of the ground and taken. We thought it would go without saying, but please DO NOT pick the flowers in the garden. We grow them to make our space look pretty and for all who pass by to enjoy. This has happened a few times, so we thought we best put a post up in case some were unaware, and we are actually already in the process of getting a sign made up...but unfortunately too late to save our beloved sunflower from going walkabout Furthermore, anyone is welcome to pick some of the food that is grown, but please don't take all of one thing, which has also happened recently when a whole chive plant was cut (photo in comments). Take a little, and leave some for others please

02.01.2022 Love pottering in our Grow Free Community Garden A place where we grow food to share under the Tree Grown by the Community, for the Community And best of all - it is all free! Growing in our our Community Garden we currently have tomatoes galore, parsley a-plenty, chives, silverbeet, sunflowers and a gladiola. We also have mint and pumpkin growing elsewhere! And all this has been achieved by wonderful donations from the community, and of course our amazing volunteers ...who tend to the Gardens. We are so very thankful to all who have helped up Grow! .
