23.01.2022 Keep the registrations coming for the mens roster starting this Thursday night at 7:30pm. We have had a lot of people indicate they were keen to play but not many have registered and paid yet.

18.01.2022 Round 2 tonight! Lets get straight into it with first game starting at 7:30pm! We will get every team 4 games, possibly 5 if all goes well. Last week was a fantastic start. Everyone picked up the rules pretty well. Still got room for a few more players. If you are interested and have any questions send this page a message.

13.01.2022 Port Sorell 3x3 starts this week, Thursday night 7:30pm! Here is the registration link. Cost is $30 if you have played basketball elsewhere this year (will cost more if you need BTAS spring roster insurance). The roster will go for 4 weeks if we have 10-15 players. If we have 20-25 we will go right through December too. So the more we get the cheaper it will work out for all of us! ... Games run from 7:30pm - 9:30pm on Thursday nights, same format as last year. Come down with 3-5 friends if you want to play as a team, or just come down by yourself and we will put you in a team each night. We will provide bibs like last year. Each team needs to ref when you are doing duty so bring your own whistle as thats one thing we dont like to share!

Come along with a team of 3-5 players or just come by yourself and we will get you a team each night. Dates are Thursdays Oct 31, Nov 7th, Nov 14th & Nov 21st. 12.01.2022 Wanna play some 3x3 practice matches before the comp starts? Come down to the Banksia Centre courts tonight (Thursday 30th August) at 8pm. Bring some gold coins please and we will chip in to pay for court hire. We will also have a quick chat about the upcoming comp, discuss rules and answer any questions. Anyone interested in playing, umpiring or volunteering in anyway welcomed to come along! NOTE: Play is at own risk, break an arm and its not insured like the real comp will be.

As we are apart of the Latrobe Basketball Association, you will be registering as a Latrobe Member and then you can select the drop down box of Port Sorell for club name. Come along with a team of 3-4 players, or if you are just coming along by yourself we will get you in a team each night. ... Cost is $80 for 14 weeks which is rego and insurance. $50 if you are already a Basketball Tasmania member for the year (you will be a BTAS member if you have played in a comp at Devonport, Latrobe, Deloraine Basketball Associations this year).

07.01.2022 What: With the help of Basketball Tasmania and the Latrobe Basketball Association we would like to announce the... Port Sorell 3 on 3 Basketball Competition (2018 Spring Roster - Mens) Our competition is based on the FIBA 3 on 3 model. Its a very quick game, just 10mins or first to 21 points (score 1 point for shots inside the arc, 2 points for outside the arc). Since you dont need to run the whole floor, its a great game for the older ones amongst us and those of any fi...tness level keen to start or get back into Basketball. Unlike traditional 5 on 5 local rosters where you play 1 game each night, in Port Sorell 3 on 3 you will play between 4-6, 10min games a night and bench a couple. Its a mini tournament with a champion team revealed every night! For the first 4 weeks everyone rocks up at 7:30pm and you will be put into teams of 3 players (or 4 players with 1 being a sub). We will do our best to make these even, Im sure each week will get better as we suss out who has some talent and who...well... doesnt have as much talent! And maybe if we are nice you can pick a friend to be on your team. We will provide coloured bibs so uniforms are easy, in 3 on 3 you dont need numbers on jerseys as team fouls are counted, not individual fouls. After those first 4 weeks we will get feedback if people like just turning up and getting put into teams, or if they want to pick their own teams for the final 10 weeks and we can make a set roster. Cost: This will be a Basketball Tasmania approved comp, meaning there will be a registration fee of around $80 for 14 weeks of games (we will know exact cost in a couple of weeks, the more people the cheaper it will be). The rego fee includes: - Basketball Tas compulsory state registration that includes insurance in the unlikely event of an injury. - Port Sorell 3x3 Rego component for court hire, equipment, admins fees, playing bibs etc. Note: If you already play Basketball in another comp this year (Devonport, Latrobe, Deloraine Associations) then you have already paid the Basketball Tasmania portion in your rego and you will only need to pay the Port Sorell 3x3 rego portion and association fee of around $50. At this stage we are looking at umpiring ourselves to keep costs low (bench team to have one person on score sheet, one on scoreboard and one to umpire). Keen to know if anybody in the area would like to umpire (preferebly for free cause you just love your portsy community and basketball) or if needs be we might have enough money from rego after other costs to hand out a few $$$ for blowing the whistle. 01.01.2022 Port Sorell 3x3 roster continues this Thursday at 7:30pm. We have room for more players/teams. If you havent signed up already please do so using the following link. We have enough interest to play right through to the new year now.

01.01.2022 UPDATE: The comp will start on Thursday the 13th Sept at 7:30pm and run through to mid December. We have had a good amount of interest but will be running a senior mens comp only. ... We have had over 25 men register their interest and no women at all! Come on ladies! Regardless, over 90% of men said they would prefer an all mens comp rather than playing in a mixed comp. Due to the dirty hawks and disgusting tigers playing a Thursday night final next week, a few fellas have said they will sit out the first week, so we decided the comp will start on Thursday the 13th Sept at 7:30pm and run through to mid December.
