19.01.2022 At Shoal Bay OOSH we have been getting to know some of the wildlife we share our beautiful grounds with. The rainbow lorikeets are so tame that if the children sit very still they will come over and sit on the childrens hands. During vacation care we had a visit from a tawny frogmouth. We think it may have been blow out of the tree by the wind. After observing it for some time we were able to do some research and find out more about the tawny frogmouth. We learnt that it is often mistaken for an owl due to its nocturnal nature and its colourings. We also discovered that it is very good at camouflage because it took us a very long time to find it again in the tree!!
