21.01.2022 We're doing our bit to support Australia's Defence Force (ADF): one evening in September, Port Waratah's Kooragang Terminal became a 'target' area for a helicopter anti-terrorism training exercise. MRH-90 and Black Hawk helicopters, from Sydney's 6th Aviation Regiment, flew at low altitudes over the Newcastle region and our Terminal. This support to the ADF provided a unique opportunity for high-readiness counter-terrorism Aviation Forces to plan and execute decisive action ...at short notice in unfamiliar terrain. Activities of this nature ensure that the critical skill set, and safety levels required of the 6th Aviation Regiment team remain at the highest levels. Army Aviation use a wide range of target areas throughout urban and rural Australia, as well as offshore locations, to maintain the highly demanding skill set required to deliver a world-class counter-terrorism response. #kooragang #portwaratah See more

15.01.2022 This month we're celebrating our partnership with Waratah Netball Club! As a recipient of our Youth Sport In Portside Suburbs funding, the club conducted three Nettyheads coaching clinics for their junior players in the pre-season. Most of their junior players attended at least one session, with many attending all three. The juniors had a wonderful time and learnt some great skills, which helped them prepare for the 2021 season after a disrupted 2020. #YouthSport #Community #Nettyheads #WaratahNetballClub

14.01.2022 The growing population at Fern Bay Public School are delighted to have a new playground installed. Port Waratah were very pleased to support the installation of the new equipment, which will benefit the whole school over the next decade and beyond! #community #fernbay #itswhoweare

10.01.2022 One of our employees was undertaking some routine hosing duties earlier this week, when he came across this baby Peregrine Falcon. Wondering what to do with the feathered friend, he called for some help from some other employees and they managed to safely get the bird into a box. The bird was then handed over to Hunter Animal Rescue to ensure the bird is well, free from injury and able to look after itself before releasing it back into the wild. #urbanwildlife #hunteranimalrescueofficial #kooragang
