24.01.2022 Many pool owners know about the importance of perfectly balanced water chemistry. But not every pool owner knows just how important it is to maintain the proper water level. Did you know the perfect level for the water to be at is the halfway point on the skimmer box along the side of the pool. It is ok for the water to fall anywhere from the one-third to the half way mark, but if the water level is below or above this range, you should add or remove water to return the water level to an optimal range. It's recommended that you check your water level daily in the warmer months with all the swimming and evaporation. These are some of the most resilient people we have ever met and we witnessed some truly heart breaking scenes. 06.01.2022 There are so many floatation aids for children on the market and while some swim schools rely on them, others completely swear against them. So what do the experts say? Floaties actually provide very little benefit to children when it comes to teaching them all the safety skills they need - they can be detrimental to how a child responds to water and their safety around it because they teach a child that they don't have to support themselves in the water. So it is best to try and avoid them where possible. That being said, they do allow kids to have fun in the water and many parents use them so just remember a good rule of thumb is to spend as much time out of them as you do in them and they don't replace supervision!

The materials you use are also very important. Try to balance hard and soft finishes timber and stone ...plus greenery. Be mindful of using light coloured paving outdoors however, as they discolour easily and dont wear as well as darker finishes. A light coloured pool interior and dark coloured paving works well. 01.01.2022 If you think your pool may have a leak there is an easy test you can use to confirm. Check it out * Place a bucket filled with pool water on a pool step (weight it with a rock or a brick). Mark the water level on both the inside and the outside of the bucket. * Make sure the water levels are the same inside the bucket as the pool water level outside the bucket. * Check the mark 24 hours later. If there's a greater drop in the line on the outside of the bucket, a leak in th...e pool is most likely. * The test should be done with the pump on, and again with the pump off. Also do a visual check around your pool equipment, and walk around the yard to see if there is any unusual dampness around the pool area.
