25.01.2022 Feeding toys and puzzles are a great way to enrich your cats environment by encouraging normal foraging and hunting behaviours and they will keep your kitty mentally stimulated.

22.01.2022 Do you own a senior pet? As the weather cools, senior pets are more likely to show changes in behaviour that may be associated with pain and arthritis. Dogs may be less active, slow to rise from lying/sitting position and may experience stiffness in joints or changes in ambulation. They may be reluctant to climb stairs or jump onto furniture. Cats with painful joints may groom themselves less and develop mats over their rumps. They may be reluctant to jump onto furniture and be less mobile. Some pets may be more irritable due to pain and this can lead to aggression or exacerbate aggression. There are many treatments that can help your senior pet with arthritis and often an multi model approach works best. We are happy to help.
14.01.2022 This is Bilbo. She used to hate her nails being trimmed. After some desensitisation (using gradual exposure, starting at the level below that which would normally incite a reaction) and counter conditioning ( by pairing nail trimming with something really enjoyable - treats, brushing) she now does not mind her nails being trimmed.

13.01.2022 Meet our youngest patient, Baci. Only 11 weeks old and graduated from puppy school today. Baci also had his 2nd lot of vaccinations today and did not even notice as he was too busy eating treats ! Well done Baci.
10.01.2022 The weather is warming up, and ticks are around. Best make sure you pet is fully protected against fleas and ticks.
06.01.2022 Is your pet afraid of storms? Some tell tell signs may be: shaking, panting, pacing, vocalising (barking, whining), hiding, destructive behaviour, trying to escape or being unsettled. What can you do to help your pet?... 1) Block out the sound/visual stimuli by closing blinds and windows and playing whitewash noise or classical music. 2) Allow your dog/cat to hide in a safe place of its choosing. eg under the bed, in a cupboard or in the bathroom. Provide a soft blanket so the pet can hide under this if it chooses to. 3)Help your pet cope by calming human interactions. Do not punish your pet. You can feed treats or play with their favourite toys to help change their emotional state. 4)Contact your vet for advice. Storm distress can quickly generalise to fear of other noises. It is best to seek advice early for treatment and use medications where necessary. Photo by
