25.01.2022 It never hurts to slow down every once in a while...
25.01.2022 Great message for this weekend:
25.01.2022 Help make it a better world
25.01.2022 Nomenclative determinism:
24.01.2022 This is all too true, I'm afraid. Maybe some of my friends here can relate to what they read in this article:
23.01.2022 Perfect therapy for when youre stuck indoors.
23.01.2022 There's something incredibly evocative about Russian Orthodox choral music. You'll need a good sound system or phones to get the full effect of this track. Sonorous and captivating; plus, in the Russian tradition, the three bassi profondi in the choir take us to the outer limits of the human voice...
23.01.2022 All notes are relative to each other.
22.01.2022 "Today was a Difficult Day," said Pooh. There was a pause. "Do you want to talk about it?" asked Piglet.... "No," said Pooh after a bit. "No, I dont think I do." "Thats okay," said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend. "What are you doing?" asked Pooh. "Nothing, really," said Piglet. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often dont feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either. "But goodness," continued Piglet, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know youve got someone there for you. And Ill always be here for you, Pooh." And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs...he thought that his best friend had never been more right." A.A. Milne Sending thoughts to those having a Difficult Day today and hope you have your own Piglet to sit beside you
22.01.2022 Taking something others throw away as rubbish - and creating from it something beautiful.
21.01.2022 One small action can make a HUGE a difference to someone's day. Tag a friend and let them know you're thinking of them.
21.01.2022 Build someone up.
20.01.2022 Great to see were getting some publicity ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day tomorrow. As one of only two LivingWorks Master Trainers in Tasmania, I was thrilled to see this interview on The Project with our national president, Shayne Connell. https://www.facebook.com/107787018440/videos/1249413098725472
19.01.2022 Many hands make light work.
19.01.2022 We dont need to spend money to show we care for someone and want to support them. One of the greatest gifts we can give is our time. Never underestimate the i...mpact you can make on someones day by listening and having them feel heard. If youre struggling and need to be heard, please reach out to us. 18.01.2022 Had this 1970 bluegrass classic running through my head all afternoon. Three minutes of honey-coated heaven...
18.01.2022 Actually, I don't just hope...
18.01.2022 When youve got the whole world on the end of a string...
18.01.2022 Wonderful tribute to the late Ennio Morricone by the worlds foremost cellist:
17.01.2022 One of the most disappointing consequences of the current global pandemic is that the BBC Proms, the worlds premier classical music festival, wont be happening this year - at least, not in its normal live-audience format. So heres one of my favourites from recent years, and my own Saturday night listening: Camille Saint-Sans Symphony No. 3 in C minor, played live at the 2013 Proms in the Royal Albert Hall by the Orchestre de Paris and conducted (it would appear) by Vladi...mir Putin... Saint-Sans was one of the last of the great French Romantic composers, and Symphony No. 3 is without doubt his most celebrated opus. If you take my advice, youll listen to the work in its entirety, as its slow build to the explosively joyous finale, is an experience you wont quickly forget. However, if you like, you can skip to about 28:05 and listen to the finale, made famous in modern times by the movie "Babe". You really want a quality sound system to get the full effect of the concert organ - a real "wall of sound" all by itself. And if youre not using headphones, turn it up to piss-off-the-neighbours volume levels. Enjoy!
16.01.2022 Nice article at ABC here about Lifeline. Remember, we are available 24/7 on 13 11 14, by SMS on 0477 13 11 14 (6pm-midnight AEST) or webchat at lifeline.org.au (7pm-midnight AEST).

13.01.2022 Perfect therapy for when you're stuck indoors.
12.01.2022 ...which is why its healthy to occasionally get out of your own head, and into the world. Hope all my FB friends are coping with the lockdowns. Stay well
12.01.2022 In my opinion, the most joyous song in the whole Beatles catalogue: just the thing to brighten a grey weekend. Positive, and harmonious ;-)
09.01.2022 This is all too true, Im afraid. Maybe some of my friends here can relate to what they read in this article:
08.01.2022 Have a groovy Friday
06.01.2022 Seeing all the anger in the streets of America reminded me of this ground-breaking song, as relevant today as when I first heard it nearly 40 years ago. This bloke was doing rap before rap was even a thing:
06.01.2022 Good morning everybody. Well, I'm sure no-one would deny that we are going through dark times at the moment, and I'm sure that we all have our own individual op...inions on these dark days, some of us only too willing to offer opinions about it. I'm sure many of us feel as though we've been prematurely BURIED, or perhaps about to be ...... but.... take heart..... See more
06.01.2022 Yes. Be that one.
05.01.2022 Further on the subject of World Suicide Prevention Day/RU OK Day (which both fell on Thursday), this statue recently appeared on a building in Bristol in England. Talk about a picture telling a thousand words...
05.01.2022 I think I may have posted this before, but I feel the need for this one tonight before I go to bed. An adaptation of an old Jewish lullaby, Sim Shalom (Grant Peace) was orchestrated by Nigel Westlake and features the unearthly voice of Israeli-Australian musician Lior. Achingly beautiful.

03.01.2022 That's why he was America's greatest poet.

03.01.2022 Something I reflect on as I grow older.
03.01.2022 When you've got the whole world on the end of a string...
03.01.2022 I'll keep this in mind tomorrow as I head off to Devonport to deliver another workshop. Back in a few days :-)
02.01.2022 ...and I am very privileged.
02.01.2022 Just a guitar and a whistle. And you're in the main street outside the saloon, staring down the gunslinger at high noon...
