22.01.2022 So I joined a private online weightloss challenge and Ive lost 2.5kgs and 10cms in one week to say Im a little excited is an understatement!!! Those that know me will know since my fall in Garden City 2 years in March and the car accident I had in Oct 2014 I put on 8kgs. Doctors arent sure exactly why but are putting it down to the steroid cortisone injections I was regularly having for the pain together with other pain medication that Im taking and I believe it was combi...nation of the medication and lack of exercise. I tried so many different ways to try and lose the weight but nothing budged. I came back from a holiday in Bali on 1 Jan this year and decided enough is enough that I was going to own 2016. I have started back on my Herbalife products and have been cooking Michelle Bridges recipes/Thermomix recipes and have lost a total of 3.6 kgs in January - happy dance. I havent been drinking alcohol either which has helped in saying that I wasnt a big drinker anyway. I have been consistent with my healthy eating and it has paid off I cant wait to shake the last 4kgs. My BoxFit sessions start again this Wednesday cant wait to see you guys there. If any of you need help with weight loss contact me personally and I will try and help you achieve this. Hope you all have an awesome February See more

02.01.2022 What are the benefits of Cardio? *increase in stamina (fitness) *stonger auto-immune system *decreases blood pressure... *controls blood sugar levels *decreases potential for Osteoporosis *strengthens your heart *boosts your mood *helps promote weight loss How does Cardio help you lose weight? Like all forms of exercise cardio burns calories. Calories are energy that can come from protein (muscle cells), carbohydrates (blood glucose or glycogen stores) or fat (adipose tissue) within your body. By burning calories (energy) you are increasing your daily output. When your energy output is above your energy (food) intake you can lose weight. There are two main styles of cardio which we will discuss. Doing the right styles of exercise can teach your body to utilise energy more efficiently and support positive hormone balance. The basic and most common types of exercise cardio are LISS and HIIT. LISS - Low Intensity Steady State for example, walking. HIIT - Hight Intensity Interval Training for example, sprint training. If we relate these to walking or jogging LISS would equate to 45-60 minutes of walking and an example of HIIT would consist of a 30 second sprint immediately followed by a 30 second walk (Rest period) these sprint and walk periods are your intervals. We repeat these for a designated amount of time usually 15-20 minutes. Which type do I choose? Your goals and results of your training will change over time. I believe that a combination of different sorts of training is necessary to get the best results from your workout. I believe in progressive overload and varying training protocols to maintain self-motivation and course to keep your body always changing. In regards to cardio therefore I recommend a combination of both walking and sprint training whether it be in a gym on a cross trainer or treadmill or outdoors on an oval, stairs or around bridges.
