24.01.2022 Remember when this clip went viral globally?! It was three years ago when Professor Robert Kelly was being interviewed live on BBC News about South Korea from his home and was interrupted by his children.. Who would have thought that this scene would take place a short time later in the majority of households most days?! This picture reminds me how things have changed during this current pandemic, and hopefully for the better! #waystowellbeing #workingfromhome #wellbeingworks #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher

22.01.2022 A Sunday well spent in my new favourite Soul Socks! Soul Socks is an incredible initiative launched by my friend Katie Elizabeth with the mission to raise awareness and much needed funds for mens mental health. Soul Socks was inspired by Katies younger brother Andy who passed away in 2017 and loved crazy, cheeky and colorful socks! The idea is to give a pair of soul socks to start meaningful conversations about #mentalhealth and 100% profits go to @movember #soulsocks #mentalwellbeing #mensmentalhealth
21.01.2022 This year has provided each of us with the worst and best kind of experiences. We have been tested and presented with uncertainty, yet we have adapted and faced the challenges head-on. I'm proud of what I have achieved in 2020. And I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me in my first year of operation. I’m looking forward to soon taking time to recover and rest from what has been a year like no other. I wish you and your loved ones a great holiday season and hope yo...u have a fantastic start to the new year. And I’m excited to hit the ground running in 2021! See more

19.01.2022 I had the absolute privilege of presenting to the Emergency Department at the Alfred Hospital yesterday! On top of the usual stress that we are all under from the pandemic, our superheros in scrubs are putting themselves at risk every day of contracting the virus, going to extraordinary lengths to protect themselves by wearing uncomfortable PPE, are feeling more tired, and some are even suffering from compassion fatigue and burnout given their roles in caring for others. It ...was lovely to hear this feedback from the team following the session... At the height of the COVID pandemic building individual and team resilience is what we needed to allow us to do what we do best. The Resilience and Wellbeing Masterclass presented by Anna allowed us to explore practical methods to achieve resilience and wellbeing within our selves. Thank you so much for coming along today, it was fantastic and the team really got lots out of it!" See more
19.01.2022 What is something you are grateful for and why? Could not love my @posisocks more - grateful for them keeping me warm in the alpine shire today, and being a constant reminder of the principles of positive psychology! Wish I thought of the idea myself @trentcotchin9
19.01.2022 Right now, were all facing the same storm, but were all doing so in different boats Some have yachts, others are in tinnies. Some have a substantial crew on board, others are rowing alone. Some have life jackets (higher resilience, stronger relationships, more optimism, use their strengths and more positivity), others dont even have a working rudder... I have been using this boat analogy a lot this week (after hearing it from @janewundersitz) to explain why some people ar...e handling the current crisis better than others.. We are not all in the same boat. We are all in the same storm. That summation of our current situation originally came from Damian Barr (the illustration is by Barbara Kelley), who suggested that some of us will sail through this pandemic with our health and jobs intact, yet others will lose one or both. So if youre wondering why others are fairing better or worse than you at the moment, perhaps its worth considering what type of boat they are in. #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #resilience #resilienceduringuncertainty #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher
19.01.2022 Happy International Self-Care Day! How will you be practicing self-care today? Looking after yourself isnt self-indulgent but it can support you to be at your best! We all need to prioritize the time to look after ourselves so we can recover from stress and re-energize ourselves for whatever comes next... Dedicating even just five minutes a day to a mindfulness or breathing activity, or spending time outside (with your dog like me) will help you restore. By being mentally well, youll be able to better deal with future challenges and uncertainties, and more able to take control of your wellbeing! #waystowellbeing #selfcare #positivepsychologyteacher #positivepsychology #wellbeingworks
18.01.2022 Optimism could be just as important as face masks for us right now... If we want to bounce back from this global pandemic stronger than we were before, we need to remain optimistic and look for the opportunity despite the difficulty. If this is not natural for you, the good news is that optimism can be learned.. It can take time, practise and effort but the payoff is well worth it! To find out how to build optimism you can read my blog on the topic via the link in my bio #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingexpert #thrivenotsurvive #optimismquotes
18.01.2022 In my blood it runs is a must watch on abc iview! An incredible story of ten year old Dujuan, an Arrernte/Garrwa boy, who like so many aboriginal children is struggling with an education system that does not value indigenous culture and needs to be changed. It also highlights the need we all have to connect to a culture to feel a sense of belonging. #inmyblooditruns #belonging #culture
17.01.2022 Log off time! The end of a big week of coaching sessions, Masterclasses, good and bad news all against the backdrop of round 2 of lockdown... #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychologyteacher
17.01.2022 Cheers to another big week! It has been a rollercoaster with a few physical, emotional and mental challenges, and some incredible highs like completing the teaching and marking of another #positivepsychology subject @unimelb , almost 5K shares and 3K likes of one of my Facebook posts (that is small fry to some but a lot for me) and my first two international speaking engagements with teams in New York and London! Despite the crap, youve got to celebrate the good stuff! #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingexpert #thrivenotsurvive #huntthegoodstuff
17.01.2022 Do you consider stress good? Bad? Or both good and bad? Coronavirus aside, stress is a normal part of life, yet it can have both positive and negative effects. By adopting a stress mindset, we can use stress to improve our performance, health and wellbeing! My latest post (https://www.annaglynn.com.au/wellbeing/the-upside-of-stress/) covers how to understand, accept and leverage stress to make it your friend.
16.01.2022 A number of people are facing hardships at the moment, in addition to the challenges the coronavirus has thrown at all of us... Its important to always be kind and gentle with others as you dont always know what else they have going on... Kind people are also happier, and kindness is contagious so the more we practise it, the more kinder the world becomes! #bekind #thekindnesspandemic #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingexpert

15.01.2022 Whats the one thing you need that might help get you through this week? And the next? Caring for yourself is not self indulgent, and how you practise it is up to only you! So how will you be prioritizing what you need to help get you through this crazy time?! #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychologyteacher #selfcare
15.01.2022 I have long been a follower of Lucy Hones work and finally had a rainy morning today to finish her book Resilient Grieving. Her devastating yet incredible story of losing her daughter Abi will help those trying to navigate the grieving process (or even trauma), including those who may be currently experiencing grief in the midst of the coronavirus. Hones research on resilient grieving supported her to find a proactive way to move through her own grief and to find hope to embrace life once again. Her Resilient Grieving Model includes a number of elements from the field of Positive Psychology and is an alternate way to the Kubler Ross model of grief. #resilientgrieving #resilientgrieivingmodel #resilience #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingexpert #wellbeingworks #waystowellbeing #thrivenotsurvive

11.01.2022 Victorians, do you ever feel like people outside of our borders dont know what youre going through right now?! This is an excellent article in the Age that interviews the incredible Peggy Kern (my former lecturer), who outlines some communication tips for those outside and inside Victoria!
11.01.2022 A few good reminders on what can make you fail in life.. And then theres the opposite - being grateful, not complaining and taking accountability for your problems - which are some of the ways that can help you achieve the good life! #waystowellbeing #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingworks
10.01.2022 When you look at this image, what do you see? A vase? A couple of faces? Now that Ive made those suggestions, are you switching between them? Which one do you think is the image youre meant to focus on? Rubins famous vase image gives your brain a choice of two valid interpretations yet often people only see one, and only realise the second is there after some time or prompting... And when you try to focus on both, you find you cant.. I saw this image recently and it got m...e thinking about mindsets, and how can we each view what is in front of us differently. Our assumptions can limit what we see. Yet when we look at something in a new way, something that was invisible can become visible. So when youre looking at the challenges ahead, what do you see? A lot of discomfort or opportunities for growth and development?
09.01.2022 Are you on the path to burnout? Burnout is considered the biggest threat to our wellbeing, productivity and engagement right now, and its predicted that burnout is going to increase over the next six months... To find out what exactly burnout is and how to avoid it, have a read of my latest post!
08.01.2022 Are you interested in measuring your wellbeing in less than five minutes? My new website features a free wellbeing survey (based on the framework PERMAH), that will let you know the domains you’re doing well and those you need to focus on so you can consistently thrive! This is a great first step to take more control of your wellbeing by knowing where you're currently at. To begin, follow the link below.
08.01.2022 This isnt the first time weve entered lockdown.... We know what to expect and what we need to help us get through. We have lessons on what to do and what not to do from before. And we have the resilience and mindset needed to overcome this challenge. We got this Victoria! #waystowellbeing #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingworks #growthmindset
05.01.2022 Want to know how to measure your wellbeing (which is made up of some of the things listed in the pie)? Check out my latest post (https://www.annaglynn.com.au//how-to-measure-your-wellbei/) that will show you how - and it will take no more than five minutes! Working out where youre at is the first step to improve your wellbeing so you know whats working well, where youre struggling and what actions you can take to improve your situation. #waystowellbeing #positivepsychologyteacher #perma #wellbeingworks
05.01.2022 If 2020 is the year of wellbeing then COVID-19 is the business case for it. Yet we know that people dont have the confidence to take control of their wellbeing as they dont know how. To find out, join my Masterclass tomorrow at 1pm (AEST) (https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/thriving-in-your-new-realit). Im also offering a 2 for 1 deal so you can bring along a friend, family member or colleague for free!
04.01.2022 Ever been snared by a negative thinking trap?! Theyre usually triggered when the situation were in is ambiguous, something we value is at stake, when we feel run down or depleted, or when we already fear the situation that we are in.... So no surprises really if youre experiencing them right now! My latest post for @tribecafinancial covers negative thinking traps, what they are and how they can be overcome! Link in bio. #thinkingtraps #wellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingexpert #waystowellbeing
03.01.2022 The power of positive thinking cant be underestimated... Although it wont remove all the unpleasantness in your life (nor is it about avoiding it), positive thinking does come with a range of benefits including greater resilience and reduced stress! Our thoughts can drive our behavior and how we feel, which is why we want them to be more positive than negative. When your state of mind is generally more positive, youre also better able to handle problems in a more productive and constructive way. The first step in thinking more positively is realizing that its in your power to do so! #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychology #positivepsychologyteacher #wellbeingexpert #thrivenotsurvive #positivethinking
03.01.2022 *****FIKA***** A moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life. Like coffee and cake on a break with a mate. Fika is ingrained in Swedish culture, and I remember (fondly) when living in Sverige around 3pm every day ordering a cake and coffee at the local cafe with friends.. Now dont go thinking that this practise is some kind of luxury, the Scandinavians know fika is a necessity for their mental health. So much so that on top of lunch it can be taken at work twice a day without question from superiors... Fika allows people to regularly reboot, and increases productivity and reduces the risk of burnout according to research. So given Sweden regularly appears in the top ten of the Worlds most happiest countries, perhaps we should be taking a leaf out of their book, and scheduling some time to fika each day
03.01.2022 Anyone felt like screaming over the past 24 hours? Im looking at my fellow Melbournians We were dealt a heavy blow yesterday, and this may have urged some to scream So did you? Although it may sound silly, screaming can be cathartic and can help in handling stress. And it seems that many have been giving it a try during this pandemic. Back in August, 74K people from Melbourne flagged interest on Facebook to stand on their front porch and scream. And on the other side of th...e world, Icelands tourism team earlier this year launched a campaign encouraging people to record themselves screaming that they would play on speakers somewhere in the wilderness I first came across the idea of screaming to relieve frustrations when living in Sweden a few years ago. In Uppsalas Flogsta neighbourhood, at exactly 10pm every night, students stop what theyre doing, open their windows and scream into the night. The intent behind the Flogsta Scream is for students to let off steam and its believed to have started as far back as the 1970s. We have plenty of reasons to scream right now, and perhaps this may be a healthy and effective way to let some of those pent-up negative emotions out! So join try a Covid cry and #letitout #waystowellbeing #wellbeingworks #positivepsychologyteacher #positivepsychology #wellbeingexpert #thrivenotsurvive See more
01.01.2022 It only seems fitting on Bastille Day to offer up one of my favorite philosophical French pastry lessons... When life presents you with challenges, try to shift your mindset to look for the sweet or opportunity out of it... The mindset we adopt plays a huge role in how we respond to the challenges we face. When we cant control whats happening to us, we can look for the silver linings, which will help us handle difficulties and come away from them stronger and more resilient than before.
