23.01.2022 Hello Possums families, so happy to have most of our little Possums return! Despite the cold and dreary weather, our Possums are getting into all things bright and creative (You may have noticed at pick ups our Possums decorated in colourful splatters recently) In Weeks 7, 8 and 9 we will be focusing on colours! Week 7 will be red week, week 8 will be blue week and week 9 will be yellow week! Lets have fun and wear these colours, make things in the colour and see what coloured foods we can find to pack in our lunch boxes. Week 9 will be CRAZY SOCK time....the crazier the better!! Also, for families currently enrolled in 2020, please join our private group Possums Playschool Parents 2020 for upcoming news and updates.

23.01.2022 Just a reminder that orders for book club are due this coming Monday. From the orders, Possums Playschool receives 20% in Scholastic credit to use to restock our library or for other educational supplies. Happy reading everyone!

22.01.2022 Our little Possums have recently been busy getting their hands dirty excitedly planting bulbs and annuals for Floriade Re:Imagined 2020. We cant wait to see the blooms come Spring! Thank you to our Floriade Community for the support #Floriade

21.01.2022 Hi Possums Community, Possums will recommence operating 3 days a week from 18 May 2020 (Week 4), in line with the announcement of the ACT Public Schools transition from home school learning. We appreciate that those families with older siblings may choose to keep their child home for an additional week and attend their session/s from 25 May 2020 (Week 5). Please advise us if you choose to do this by 9am Tuesday 12 May 2020. ... Your childs sessions remain the same unless you have emailed a change request. To those parents whose children have been attending our Tuesday and Wednesday sessions you will go back to your previous session days. Thank you all very much for your kind words and support throughout this period. The uncertainty has been tough and we are very proud to be able to say that Possums was one of only two playschools who continued to operate throughout the period. We look forward to welcoming all our Possums again!

Possums Playschool provides a play-based learning facility with structured activities for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Come along to our Open Day on Wednesday 23rd October and meet our wonderful educators and see our facilities.

17.01.2022 Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday break! Heres an idea to keep little hands busy and easily made at home.. Playdough! No Cook Playdough 2 cups plain flour... 2 Tbspns vegetable oil 1.5 cups salt (preservative and makes it so awful they wont eat it) 2 Tbspns cream of tartar 1.5 cups boiling water (adult supervision req) Food colouring A few drops of glycerine (optional) Mix all the dry ingredients and the oil. Add the food colouring and glycerine to the boiling water (adults only!) and pour into the dry mix and stir. Once the dough has cooled enough the kids can help knead it into a soft ball of fun We hope you can enjoy a little bit of Possum magic at home!

We are following the Australian Governments health measures, providing hand santiser upon arrival, limiting parental traffic through the centre and are practicing vigorous, timely hand washing with the children. Nothing can stop our children and their enthusiasm for play and learning. We have been sharing activities for our possums at home in our ...regular newsletters. Stay tuned for more ideas! 04.01.2022 As National Reconciliation Week 2020 comes to a close, we reflect on the spirit of reconciliation to recognise and mark the important place of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories in our community. Our little possums will shortly be developing a mural with a local indigenous artist to encourage their cultural understanding
