25.01.2022 Looks like fun!
25.01.2022 Reinventing tired furniture may not always work out the way we imagine, but that's the fun part!
21.01.2022 I had fun with the kids yesterday, painting a Harry Potter themed bedroom.
20.01.2022 Lenah Valley is almost like this. Some nights I come home from work and there are roos in my street!
16.01.2022 In early March before the COVID situation, I had a busy year planned ahead at Assemblage with bookings until January 2021. Of course all of these were cancelled, some re booked and again cancelled. I am through this experience touched with the kindness and humility of people who ring me to cancel, so apologetically promising to re book in the future. In good humour I say to them, 'You are actually not allowed in to our state, so you don't have a choice. You really do have to cancel!' I have decided not to accept any future bookings until December at the earliest. We know we are very priveledged to be in Tasmania during this time. Please take care wherever you may be. xxx
16.01.2022 Amazing footage... watch as the Milky Way rises above the lonely wind swept tree at Binalong Bay in the Bay of Fires. There is a tree that grows on a granite bo...ulder, covered in the most beautiful orange-tinged lichen, that has to be on everyone's bucket list. It is simply impossible not to fall in love with Binalong Bay in the Bay of Fires, which is on Tasmania's East Coast, which has the whitest finest sand and bluest azure water in the world. It's a photographer's, holiday makers or visitors paradise! Binalong Bay and the Bay of Fires offers all kinds of outdoor activities, from scenic coastal walks and beachside fun to some of the world's best game fishing. The Bay of Fires Conservation Area offers beach-side camping and the elevated sites amongst the acacia trees have amazing views of the coastline and the sea. The Milky Way is a large barred spiral galaxy. All the stars we see in the night sky are in our own Milky Way Galaxy. Our galaxy is called the Milky Way because it appears as a milky band of light in the sky when you see it in a really dark area. Thanks to Fergus Gregory for sharing his incredible video with us. 16.01.2022 Lovely work by Adriana Carnevale at Wild Island.
13.01.2022 Salamanca Market opening soon!
10.01.2022 Wow it has been a challenging year. The loss of my beautiful best friend Sue, the closure of my new business, only 2 months in, yet to re-open and many other challenges to say the least. My usual response to anger, to frustration, to sadness is to work, so yes I have done plenty of that. I am without doubt a workaholic! Today instead of work, I decided to draw. I set out to draw 'happiness' and within 2 hours I had 11 drawings. I sometimes forget that the process of being creative makes me happy. Instead of looking at my little cactus being beaten up, I am looking at the sunshine and flowers, and thinking of Sue, knowing she would be saying 'Come on Tan, what's next? Let's do this.'
09.01.2022 Love these birdie outfits!
08.01.2022 A nice getaway!
07.01.2022 This show is stunning!
07.01.2022 If you are looking for a great exhibition of works to view, head down to Richmond to the Ashmore cafe where Doreen Locher has some wonderful abstracts on show. Congratulations Doreen.
07.01.2022 We definitely need some lights on!

05.01.2022 Congratulations to my dedicated and hard working daughter Heidi for winning a Tasmanian Young Achiever award for her services to the Disability sector. Well done Heidi xx
05.01.2022 It is with the greatest sadness I have said Goodbye to my best and dear lifelong friend Sue Hope. Sue passed away last Saturday at home with her family. Sue was a constant visitor at the Post Office, by my side helping with anything and everything. Her beautiful smile, creativity, amazing sense of humour and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. I will miss her texts, and photos of things for me to buy. I will miss her saying 'Don;t complicate things Tan. Keep it simple.' or 'Do what you want to be doing.' I will miss the time we spent together painting, mosaicing, decorating or just having coffees. Thank you to all of my lovely friends who have been there for me at this sad time. We will all miss Sue. RIP my dear friend. xx
05.01.2022 There is plenty of work to be done while the business is closed. I am renovating the old kitchen at the moment to be ready for guests to use. Finally, after much discussion about roof height I have another approval from council, this time for the lovely new structure at the rear of the property. Thank you Dan from Maguire and Devine Architects.
05.01.2022 This is stunning.I would love to see it close up.
04.01.2022 Another exciting project by Maguire and Devine Architects. Hugh and Dan can be found working tirelessly on these amazing projects at the Post Office Studio.
01.01.2022 We have been quiet at the post office for a while. I am taking the time to do some maintenance and to plan for some interesting new developments coming in September / October. The summer months will bring a hive of activity with a whole lot of new and exciting things afoot. I will keep you posted a little closer to the time!
