25.01.2022 A Helleborus x hybridus 'double green and purple bicolour' in flower last Winter.
23.01.2022 A semi double Helleborus x hybridus. This one was the result of crossing a double primrose picotee and a single primrose yellow. In anticipation of those who may ask, unfortunately we don't offer these in our online Hellebore Shop. The reason being that the semi double forms are quite variable from seed, so we don't sell unflowered seedlings.
22.01.2022 Something a bit more unusual. This is a Japanese bred form of Helleborus x hybridus that we imported back in 2018. Will be a few more years till we find out whether we can get a reliable strain from this one. Definitely not available at the moment.
20.01.2022 Another variety from our 2020 Hellebore Shop.........Helleborus x hybridus 'white blotched'.
20.01.2022 I always reckon the darker flowered forms look best in the garden if they have some paler colours to show them off. In this case a black form of Helleborus x hybridus being assisted by a lovely primrose yellow and some Galanthus.
15.01.2022 Thanks to the early onset of cold weather (at the start of April) this year, we have quite a bit of flowering going on at the Nursery. We quite often have very little in flower in June, so this is unusual for us. Anyway it is a bonus for those visiting us on our Open Sundays during June (we will be open on Sundays only till the end of September, see website for details). This one was in flower today, a lovely double apricot peach.
14.01.2022 Our final two open Sundays for this year coming up on 20th and 27th of September. We still have some flowering sized plants and smaller tubestock available.
13.01.2022 A lovely Helleborus x hybridus 'double purple', one of our favourites.
13.01.2022 One of our favourites, Helleborus x hybridus Double primrose yellow spotted. The Nursery is open to the public every Sunday 10am to 4pm. Lots and lots of lovely Hellebores in flower.
13.01.2022 We probably focus too much on the floral beauty of Hellebores and often overlook the wonderful foliage. This image features a couple of the foliage stars of the genus, Helleborus foetidus on the left, and Helleborus argutifolius on the right.
07.01.2022 Floating Hellebore flowers in a bowl of water is a nice way to bring them inside over Winter.
06.01.2022 For those who like their Hellebores a bit bright... We flowered this one last year, an orangey-apricot shade with bright yellow nectaries. Not one that we have available at the moment, closest would be any of our 'apricot-peach' varieties.
04.01.2022 We are still posting out Hellebores from our website shop and the Nursery is open on Sundays. Probably peak flowering time for us now. Pic is one of our favourites: the Reverse Picotee.
01.01.2022 A nice form of Helleborus x hybridus Bicolour flowering in the Nursery. Lots in flower at the Nursery at the moment, our earliest flowering season since 2006!
