25.01.2022 Well, we have returned after the South Coast bushfires. Potato Point Beach House and our village was not affected by the fires. Other than everything is covered in black ash, which is very hard to clean off. It may take a while to return 100% to normal but the local businesses are getting back up and running!... Today there is a light drizzle across the Point and a sea fog limiting our beach views so we just see the rocks!! So beautiful!! The emus are back wondering around the streets, and a couple of seals were sleeping by the cliffs yesterday!! So beautiful!

19.01.2022 We are so pleased to announce that whilst the Eurobodalla Shire was devastatingly affected by the Far South Coast fires over the New Year, our village of Potato Point was not hit by the fires. Our most recent guest had left the area, but was evacuated at their next destination (they are home safe now - phew), and whilst we were there at the time, we evacuated our family to safety in Canberra during the window of open roads immediately after the NYE firestorm. Our neighbours... have confirmed the house was still standing and not affected, so we will travel over to do the post apocalyptic clean up!! There is ash everywhere and Im sure it will wreak of smoke for a while but it is still intact. We are lucky, and many people that we know have been affected by this disaster. Please continue to support local south coast businesses throughout 2020. When you visit our beach house, we provide information on a whole range of local activities, restaurants and businesses that you can support. Our local RFS is our charity of choice - they provided great pre Christmas briefings on fire preparedness which helped my family to get ourselves and the house to be fire ready; they continued their efforts during the new year fires also. We will likely recommence holiday letting in February, as soon as the immediate risks are reduced.
