24.01.2022 Here is a fun training method that will test your will-power and toughness Load up a pair of Thick Handled Farmers Walks with a weight you could carry for a max 20m, then load some Standard Handled Farmers Walks with a weight you could carry for a max 30-40m. Lift and carry the Thick Handled Farmers Walks for as far as you can, placing them down on the ground a split sec before you drop them. You then have 10-15sec to pick up and begin carrying the Standard Handled Farmers ...Walk as far as you possibly can until your grip and mind give in. 16.01.2022 Hello everyone, WARNING!!! Oliver Bradley has been texting people information about two fake bootcamps (that we know of) and acting as though we are hosting them.... This is completely FALSE. We have evidence of these fake text that are pretending to be from us (POVEY Performance) where they talk about the supposed itinerary of the fake bootcamps which are listed as being held in Warrnambool and Sydney. Once again this is completely NOT true and unfortunately people have been paying him up to $600 and more for these fake bootcamps. We have received a large amount of evidence including text messages, bank receipt payments to his account, confirmation of who Oliver is etc from the victims that have contacted us. We first heard about these scams on Thursday 17th Sept when one of the victims contacted us wanting a refund. Since then we have heard of other scams he is running where one girl lost 9k to him. We would love some advice on how to stop him scamming other people out of their money and how to stop any potential damage he causing to our business now and in the future. Thank you and take care. 15.01.2022 Repost from @chris_povey There’s many different ways to use a velocity device when training. One simple way is to use it to determine the weight on the bar. Here I’m using it to set a minimum bar speed for some back-down paused reps. (In this case staying above 0.6m/s)... Keeping above that designated speed forces me to not lift too heavy and therefore too slow which would add extra fatigue. 07.01.2022 Here Chris is performing a 1+2 method with Weight Releasers on the High Bar Squat. He begins by lowering down on a count of 8, once the hooks release he drives back up before performing 2 more reps. Depending on how much volume is required you would complete for 3-5sets. Here we have Ash, who’s currently playing Rugby in NSW. She is utilising our online systems to provide complete coaching and support for her strength and power progressions. We use velocity based training as a part of our service in which Ash simply attaches a speed device to the barbell. The custom programming we provide uses velocity targets/requirements to assist in weight selection and progressions. This is a great way to program for strength development but also takes a lot of the guess work out for athletes. This is especially helpful when the harsh nature of the sport that they play can have a heavy impact on their week-to-week performance in the gym. These performance variables due to their own sport trainings/games are completely taken care of when using our velocity based programming. The weight on the bar can be simply adjusted depending on the speed in which you are moving on that given day. This allows for intelligent decisions to be made on the fly.
