25.01.2022 Rising 9yo Connemara mare, Glenormiston Hazy Aurora (Frederiksminde Hazy Cavalier (IMP Den) x Glenormiston Kinsale), is so pleased that ALL 7 foals/weanlings are now "hers". Investigating some fallen branches after a stormy couple of days is the latest activity for Aurora's creche, with the young geldings watching intently from the next paddock.

23.01.2022 Our newest arrival at Powderbark, Miss Paddington (aka Paddy) the Maremma puppy, is settling in well with Bear and Ted showing her how things work here! This morning was all about "investigating" the stream that runs through our bottom paddock- pictured is Bear in the water with Ted next to Paddy at the start of their adventure.... the "after" photos are in comments
19.01.2022 Our 3.5yo Connemara filly, Powderbark Hazy Maeve (Powderbark Hazy Julemand x Powderbark Bridget-SOD Glenormiston Fibber McGee), had her first ride at home this afternoon with Carlisle after a 4 week light start under saddle with Catherine Anderson. Maeve is so forward and so comfortable to ride, with a lovely floating trot- we are just delighted! She will now have a well earned break before going in foal later in the year.
19.01.2022 We are used to hearing visitors saying Oh, it’s Spirit! when meeting our rising 15yo Connemara stallion, Glenormiston Dundrum (Castle Baron (IMP Ire) x Glenormiston Rosmara-SOD Oxenholm Gideon (IMP Den)). It’s lovely to have such a reliable pony when visitors come to our stud, like 9yo beginner rider, Issy, who is still telling people I rode Spirit Stallion on the weekend! 16.01.2022 Our lovely Connemara mare, Powderbark Bridget (Glenormiston Fibber McGee x Glenormiston Cloonshee- SOD Abbeyleix Finbar (IMP Ire)), has retired from breeding after producing 5 wonderful foals for us (Powderbarks Cassidy, Orlaith, Maeve (retained), Violet Gray and Granuaile (retained)). Bridget has been sold to a wonderful family home where she will continue her ridden career. We wish them all the best with this super pony!

08.01.2022 Our first foal for the season has arrived- a substantial and very striking buckskin colt by Glenormiston Dundrum and out of Powderbark Leonora (Sternbergs Lenaro (IMP Ger) x Glenormiston Hazy Aurora (AI)-SOD Frederiksminde Hazy Cavalier (IMP Den)). He is the first "grandchild" for both Lenaro and Aurora and we are so excited: introducing Powderbark Shillelagh

05.01.2022 It's been a busy week! We farewelled Powderbark Orlaith, Powderbark Rosina and Powderbark Fintan, who have each been sold to a wonderful performance home. We wish their new owners every success and look forward to following their progress.
05.01.2022 It won't be long before 5 week old purebred colt, Powderbark Shillelagh (Glenormiston Dundrum x Powderbark Leonora), and 5 day old partbred filly, Powderbark Sine (Sternbergs Lenaro (IMP GER) x Powderbark Dior), will start playing together!
05.01.2022 These two rising 6yo mares, partbred Connemara Powderbark Rosina (Glenormiston Fibber McGee x Rubyleigh Irish Rose-Irish Sporthorse) and purebred Connemara Powderbark Eithne (Glenormiston Dundrum x Glenormiston Fiona), were born just two weeks apart and have been together ever since. Time to start riding them again!
05.01.2022 It was lovely to receive an update from Jessica about her Connemara x TB gelding, Powderbark Furphy (Glenormiston Dundrum x TB mare by Aly Kingston). Furphy turns 6 on Wednesday and is ready to return home after being started under saddle with Lana (pictured). He is looking fantastic and we look forward to the next update!
