23.01.2022 Deciding to have a crack at lodging your own tax return on MyGov???? While it may seem all pretty easy, and you think the ATO has all your information... It is important not to underestimate the value of a professional who knows the tax law inside and out.... We are hearing more reports of clients lodging their own tax returns, but upon our review, realise they are missing a handful of legitimate deductions!!! Or worse, have claimed deductions they aren't actually entitled to... CRAZY!!!! ... And to further add insult to injury, they no longer have our professional representation if approached by the ATO for an audit! Just because your employer is reporting via Single Touch Payroll does not mean you aren't entitled to use the services of a tax professional. :(
