23.01.2022 LAGA PROJECT SUCCESS Boyd Lockett, Power On Q CEO stated in a recent press release We were initially presented with a major power problem (Up to 5 power outages every day) affecting the daily operation of the largest cannery in PNG from Laga Industries. Power On Q in conjunction with Power On Australia, worked side-by-side with Laga to design a suitable solution for the mine site, which we all affectionately named Power In A Box. Incorporated into this solution was a ... 275KVA UPS, PFC, Surge Protection, VSD Drives and a Switchboard all in a standalone, plug and play solution, built in a shipping container and sea freighted to PNG for immediate use. The end user customer was extremely content with the final solution provided and installation and since this initial prototype concept was installed, several more are now on the table to be built over the next couple of years.
20.01.2022 A Tough One. A mine site needed an extremely Hardy Power System, that could put out both AC and DC power, for a minimum of 4 hours, to support it's switchroom. It also had to be compliant with all the Mine site Power Standards including Earth Leakage detection, be supplied from a 3 phase 3 wire no neutral source, and not be affected by higher than average temperatures. Job Done.
18.01.2022 Power On Q was contracted by ABB Australia Pty Ltd to work with them in designing a power protection solution to meet the needs of the Anglo Grosvenor Mine Site in Queensland. It was evident that there were various power requirements around the site and as such Power On Q was presented with the scope of coming up with a consistent solution to be installed in all the switch rooms on the mine site, in order to provide one type of system to understand for ease of maintenance in... the future. The initial design included an 11kVA modular UPS Unit, Extended Battery Cabinets, an Electromechanical Bypass Switch, a Load Centre and PDU, all housed in a suitable data cabinet. Once this design was approved, Power On Q provided the supply, project management, factory testing and commissioning to ensure the roll out of the total turnkey solution was successful. The solution needs to fit inside a confined space of no higher than 620 MM. It has to provide changeover and backup loads during generator start up /shut downs during load transfer to Prime Generator Mains. The location... The remote Jungles of the Png Highlands for Key Telecommunication Towers . The solution... Input 12 v @ 6o amps load putting out 24 Dc. Timeframe... 2 weeks to build and factory test from receiving components from overseas. The result... Power On Q Designed built and Factory Engineered and Tested within Two weeks. All within a custom Designed 12 Ru cabinet with Eyelets for Bracing during possible Png earthquakes. On budget On time and totally customised to suit site environmental conditions.
