20.01.2022 That was fun! Thank you Elizabeth South Primary School for inviting us to your school's Sports Day on Thursday! We were rapt to see so many students engaged and participating in manual wheelchairs and playing a bit of hockey! Sports Days are always fun and competitive, and it was great to bring awareness to disability sports and inclusivity for students and teachers! And thank you to Invictus Pathways Program for supporting and lending our team a handful of manual wheelchairs to facilitate our session!
14.01.2022 Only a few more days until the season starts for #PowerchairFootball!
10.01.2022 "The advice I would give someone who's looking to get into the sport is I think just give it a go" - Santo Bongiovanni In case you missed it, our #Powerc...hairFootball athletes took part in KYD-X's Virtual Expo a few weeks ago, where they were able to shine a light on their experiences with the sport and how it has positively impacted them on and off the court. Have a look at the video below and be a part of our upcoming season that's not too far away! Be sure to keep an eye out for a few exciting new announcements over the next few weeks! #KYDX #VirtualExpo #Expo #KidsDisabilityYouthExpo #Powerchair #PowerchairSports #Football #OneCultureFootball #SAPowerchairFootballChampionship #Disability #Inclusive #FootballForAll
06.01.2022 Today is World Duchenne Awareness Day! Each year on September 7 provides everyone with an opportunity to raise the profile of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to the wider community. It provides a platform to inform people on the efforts throughout the world to help promote quality of life and potential interventions for individuals and families living with DMD. Our former and current playing group have all been touched by the experiences of DMD either directly or indirectly.... It is something we hold dear, and hope that organisations nationally and around the world continue the efforts to improve quality of life and support for people with DMD, and maybe one day a cure can be found. If you would like to know more about the day and what resources are available for DMD, please check out the links below for more information: https://www.worldduchenneday.org/ https://theloopcommunity.org/ https://www.saveoursons.org.au/
01.01.2022 #PlayTogetherPlayWell! We're still a few months away from a return to the hardwood for our beloved #PowerchairSports, but that doesn't stop us from being excited and keen for the prospect of a return after such a long break! We also know that we'll be ready to take the necessary measures to ensure everyone's health and wellbeing in this new COVID-19 reality once we come back. You can take the necessary measures too by following the steps in the video to ensure safety fo...r yourself and those around you! Once again thank you to Inclusive Sport SA, SA Recreation and Sport and Spacequake Sports for supporting this Return to Sport Accessible Communication Initiative for all diverse and inclusive sports communities!
