24.01.2022 This week I trained all my Girls and Guys with TRX Reformer classes and you know when you have those proud moments as I watch these amazing humans challenging their bodies in positions that half of them believed they couldn’t do just amazes me. You should be all so proud that you have the ability to not only challenge the mind but also that amazing body that you live in each day!!... YOU ARE STRONGER than you THINK YOU ARE!!!

This didnt come overnight it came with failures, heartache and alot of fear jumping into the unknown and being open and vunerable to the changes that brought me where i am today. Contrology, he said, was conceived to limber and stretch muscles and ligaments so that your body will be as supple as that of a cat, not muscular like a brewery-truck horse or professional weight lifter you so much admire at the circus.

17.01.2022 SO WHERE DID THIS MAGIC PILATES CIRCLE BEGIN WITH PILATES.. After inventing The Barrel, Joseph Pilates was left with the metal rings from around the beer barrels he used, and not wanting to leave anything to waste, he invented The Magic Circle. The Magic Circle is a small metal circle with two soft pads on it (though when Joe invented his original circles, those pads were just blocks of wood) used to teach people how to engage their innermost muscles. AND THAT’S WHY I LOVE THE MAGIC CIRCLE!!!

11.01.2022 Well I think we all know this...But remembering to listen and use our inner awareness to feel what our body might be saying is sometimes beyond us. During times of stress, pain and despair we can lose connection with what our body really needs. #We can over think and explain things in our head and forget to respond on the feeling level... # Right now more people are finding different exercise regimens, be it Pilates, Yoga, dance or fitness work...and this is the perfect oppor...tunity to listen to your body. #Really tune in and listen. I ask my clients each day How does your body feel .... # Movement practice increases body awareness...an awesome skill to develop # we learn so much when we listen
08.01.2022 We need our spines to support us while we move in many different positions throughout the day, and a strong and healthy back is what keeps us moving in ALL directions. If you think about it, almost everything we do requires both strength and mobility of the spine. (Standing, sitting, bending over to tie our shoes, reaching for something on the back seat in the car, getting things off the high shelf in the wardrobe etc.) Generally speaking, we don’t do much side bending in ou...r daily life activities, which is why it’s important to incorporate some lateral side bending exercises into your weekly workouts. To keep your back strong and healthy, the spine needs to be able to freely bend forwards, backwards, side-ways and rotate. If you’re not moving the spine in all directions in either your daily life activities or workouts, you’re missing out on an important component for a well-balanced body and better whole-body health. And guess what By practicing side bends, not only are you improving your strength and flexibility for a healthy back, but side bending exercises also help train your abdominal muscles for a stronger core. There are LOTS of great benefits to adding side bending exercises to your workouts. If your interested in trying a Pilates Reformer class just PM me.

01.01.2022 B O R I N G ? It seems everywhere we look nowadays we are told to ‘go hard or go home’ or ‘sweat like a pig to look like a fox’ etc and basically the narrative is if you aren’t crying you’re not working hard enough. But for many of us aren’t we already running around like headless chickens enough? Aren’t we already at peak ‘go hard or go home’ with our to-do lists/career aspirations/school runs When it comes to exercise, therefore, it’s ok to choose forms that are less ‘aggr...essive’ or more mindful. It doesn’t mean they are less effective or a waste of time. Why add to an already hectic day with a further hectic workout? Pilates, for me, gives me more time to focus on how my body moves, performs or feels. It focuses on strengthening the body, not abusing it or punishing it, but building a more tolerant body rather than draining a depleted one. So don’t forget to think about what YOUR body feels and not what ‘Tracy down the pub’ does when considering what type of workout to go for. If you’ve tried Pilates before and found it boring or think it's just for middle aged women. THINK AGAIN. Pilates is anything but BORING. Trust me, If u know anyone that does my classes they will tell you they are FAR FROM BORING.. Lots of LOVE and LIGHT Fran
01.01.2022 These are your TVA muscles (Tranversus Abdominis), it’s these that create that deep corset of strength around your internal organs and lower back when activated...and which we target with our Pilates practise. Your TVA are the deepest layer of abs running from ribs to pelvis and front to back. They stabilise your entire back and core muscles and weak TVA are often the cause of back pain. If the TVA are weak, the abdominal wall will begin to bulge forward and your pelvis may ...tilt forward creating an increased arch in your lower back. We all need to continue to work at strengthening our TVA - which is why Pilates is so beneficial for anybody and everybody!
