25.01.2022 Another week of fun on the farm. Also a little fun off the farm checking out some very cool and fast push bikes.

20.01.2022 We have been hard at work building another market garden and the growth rates here are astounding. Nearly all the rows are installed and we have been frantically planting our beds for the box subscriptions.

17.01.2022 Dill and drag racing push bikes another week of fun and excitement at the farm and off.

15.01.2022 We are back in action. Doing the stuff we love and bringing the farm back to life. This time around we are lucky enough to team up with The Mini Farm Project to provide food for even more people in need. Big thanks to Nick Steiner Kate Nielsen Robert Packer Millen Farm and my dad for massive efforts this week.

15.01.2022 Compost and the produce from compost.

12.01.2022 Sometimes from an outside world perspective things move a little slower in our journey towards a different way of thinking. Great friendships and the understanding that everyone is different in their own special way helps create a community around the common goal.

11.01.2022 All this great stuff going on and loads more follow me on Arran Heideman or @arranfarmer on instagram.

06.01.2022 We are having great times doing something different with a regenerative approach and hanging out with loads of old friends. Building something from scratch has felt easy this time around and this is loaded with positive stuff although we have been hit with a multiple of setbacks. This year was meant to be our first year of awesome but with the market being shut down and the training program we ran being shut down due to covid 19 we had to scramble to find a completely different approach to the way we dealt with the community. We found a new home for the market garden and transitioned to a completely different world with our new ability to help our community to grow through the box subscriptions. I love the way the farm can transition quickly to create community around the ever changing circumstances that our world creates.

04.01.2022 We are building another market garden. This was the original starting place of our dreams and if you remember it was all on contour with grass paths. This time around we are going intensive style with a real lean towards agroeclogy which means our planting style will be different to most market gardens. The plantings will be annual as well as perennial which will lead to a diverse and continued harvest into the future and also thinks about the generations that follow us.

01.01.2022 We’ve had plenty of time for reflecting on our contribution to our community and moving towards a different way of thinking. The connections sometimes take longer than we expect but we are all busy with doing important stuff and this is something we all have in common. A common theme seems to exist with our busy lives and taking time to contribute is hard but making time is something we should be thinking about. We try and connect on many levels from composting local organic waste streams, supporting local schools with design/seedlings and opening volunteering opportunities to create onsite learning for others to share our dreams and hopefully realise the real possibilities.

01.01.2022 Soil management and structure retention along with a strong balance between return of surplus back to the soil and market garden production. This has been the foundation of our ability to enhance our sites water holding capability. The fly over illustrates the improvements considering our site looked like next door only 2 and a half years ago.
