Here are 4 things to consider when it comes to your switchboard: Appliances are short-circuiting Older switchboards can short-circuit or 'trip' when overloaded, the majority of older switchboards are not designed to handle the high-wattage loads of today's homes.... Flickering lights Flickering lights can be caused by loose wiring in old or damaged switchboards.
