23.01.2022 Shout out to my best buddy, Cruzer, faithful companion, key business advisor, king of cuteness and lovableness. Being a solopreneur freelancer means a lot of time working on my own at home, so it's great having him around to brainstorm with. He keeps me sane and on track. It also means walking him gets me out of the house first thing before starting work, which sets us both up for the day. ... When he wants some attention he'll rest his head on my lap and stare up at me with those big brown eyes. He loves his ears scratched and tugged and then he'll turn around to have a good bottom scratch. He wags his tail to show his happiness. It's a funny thing but a simple act like wagging his tail really makes me happy. Who do you have as your sidekick when working from home? #dogs #lovemydog #cruzerdadog

22.01.2022 High five to this little dude, the #ManekiNeko catthe lucky cat of Japan, though the Chinese lay claim to its origins too. The higher the paw is raised, the greater the luck. People say they make their own #luck. That’s different luck to the ethereal, wait and see sort of luck. ... Do you have a lucky ritual, talisman or mantra that you believe brings you luck? Unlike #RafaelNadal’s twitchy little routine that he does a million times during a tennis match, my good luck ritual is less convoluted. I rub the tip of my middle finger against the tip of my thumb and quietly say an affirmation that relates to the situation several times. For example, if I’m going to a meeting with a prospective new #client, just before I arrive, I do this and say something like: This person is going to love me and what I can do for them and see the value in working with me. Whether the friction coupled with the affirmation actually conjures up some luck, or momentously focusing on that routine helps my mindset I’m not sure. All I know is that it (mostly) works and I’m sticking with it. If you need more than luck to get your #socialmedia and #contentmarketing working consistently well for you, then jump over to Linktr.ee in my bio and check out what I do. I work with #coaches, #photographers, #speakers, #consultants and #smallbusinessentrepreneurs to powerup their business with great #digitalcontent. It helps with their #onlinevisibility and gives them back some valuable time to work on other aspects of their #business.

14.01.2022 This is a week to give. What can you give to make someone else's life better?

14.01.2022 A different ANZAC day to what we're used to, but still very close to Australian's hearts never the less. xxx

14.01.2022 Ever done anything wild and reckless? Years ago, when living in London, I woke up and decided on the spur of the moment to chuck in my job, rent out my flat and take off on a 6 month trip. I couldn't really afford it but I was so strung out with London life that I didn't care. Somehow I scraped together enough money and in 2 weeks I was on a flight to Los Angeles. I lived in a crazy hostel for 10 days on Hollywood Boulevard, then flew to Mexico City. I was meeting a friend ...who flew in from London (she was a school teacher joining me for the UK Summer break). We had an awesome time travelling around southern Mexico. The most glorious time was several weeks on the Caribbean coast where the sand was snow white and the water warm and azure blue. Our days were spent lazing on the beach or in the water and our nights eating out and drinking tequila (lots haha). We saw some amazing sights; Mayan cities and temples, markets, villages, mountains, valleys and met some incredible people both visitors to Mexico and locals. We headed back to Mexico City via central Mexico and my friend returned back to London for school. I jumped on a flight to Sydney. From Sydney, I transferred to an internal flight to Cairns where I spent a week getting my Open Water Dive cert. After that I flew to the Gold Coast for family time for a few months. I then headed to Vietnam for a couple of weeks then onto Singapore for a weekend of partying with a good friend who was living and working there. I arrived back in London in November for a friend's wedding as I'd promised them I'd house and cat sit for a few weeks while they went on honeymoon. And, I needed somewhere to stay until my tenant's lease was up. Being a bit reckless is good for the soul. I remember thinking, well that was a once in a lifetime trip. But believe it or not, 2 years later I woke up one morning and said, time for another trip!!

11.01.2022 Why are you in business? To make money, right! Not to have the prettiest IG feed, best Reels, funniest memes or a humungous amount of followers, most of who aren't your ideal audience. Show up on your socials, but have a strategy to get them on your list so you can build a great relationship with them. ... I work with clients, using their socials to help build a nurturing funnel, that gets people to their websites and landing pages with the aim of signing up to their mailing list. That's where the real business stuff happens. Building a strong relationship that will convert to a sale or whatever outcome is required. From experience this is how businesses make sales, grow their email list asset and produce consistent revenue streams. So, where do you start? Create one or several perfect Freebie giveaways relevant to your business that will attract your ideal clients or customers. When they sign up to your list they become your warm leads. Have a killer Welcome email that will give them a taste of what to expect and set up Automations in your desired email marketing tool (ActiveCampaign is my fave) that will journey your client through the funnel process to the desired outcomes. Create auto-responder sequence of time-triggered and action-triggered emails, and have clearly defined messages that drives them to a purposeful CTA. Design a loyalty program that keeps your customers engaged with your brand, encourage reviews and referrals from them. Repay with a gift, discount or some other thoughful reward. Easy peasy, yeah! 99% of my clients have some sort of email marketing campaign set up. We use around 25% of their social media posts to drive viewers to their email list. It takes time but the key is being relevant, consistent and valuable. I'm a no fluff, no BS social media manager and content creator, helping women-owned SMEs, coaches, speakers and creatives elevate their brand and build their business through social media, good content, email marketing campaigns and 20+ years marketing experience. Jump over to my bio @powerup.yoursocials for a brief intro, then click on Linktr.ee for my website and FB biz page. #emailmarketing #buildanemaillist #growsalesthroughemailmarketing

10.01.2022 Making good use of my time in 'ISO', in-between client work, by completing the Project Management Specialist certificate with Freelance University. I loved the training I undertook with this particular certification. It's given me great insight into the best way to manage bigger, more complex projects with the right skills and tools. By working diligently through all the modules and tasks I identified skills I already possess which are necessary to be a good project manager... and other skills that I need to work on. Owning, running and building your own business is always a work in progress!!!

08.01.2022 What is your business identity, and do you apply it to your message? The way to understand your business identity is to know what the values are for it. For example, on my new website, launching next week, it states my values are:... Ownership, Communication, Integrity Ownership because I stand by what I say and do. If it goes wrong in any way I'll put my hand up and be accountable, rather than pass the buck or make lame excuses. Don't get me wrong, sometimes there are genuine reasons that explain why XYZ happened. Communication because it is key in my business. Working with my clients is so rewarding, but it has its challenges at times. That's why I encourage clear communication between us, so we understand what is happening, and how it's happening throughout the process. Integrity is the glue that keeps it all bound together. If I didn't operate with integrity, & expect my clients to do the same, then I wouldn't be running my own business. I've had some past clients act without integrity towards me, and I learned to let them go because I don't need to work with them. There will always be better clients to fill their shoes. So, my message is to take ownership of my actions, thoughts & beliefs. Keep communication channels open for clarity & openness, and always act with integrity by being honest, helpful, respectful, trustworthy and dependable. That now becomes a mission statement, & the guide to how I intend to run my business. I'd love to hear what 3 words you regard as being your VALUES when talking about your business. Drop them below and share with the world why you chose them. Have a beautiful Sunday xx #socialmediamanager #socialmediacoach #socialmediamarketingagency

06.01.2022 The power of positive energy...Make a good start to your Monday and a great week will follow. Here are some things I do to make sure my Mondays start really well - 1. Get to bed early Sunday night... 2. Don't drink any or very much alcohol/coffee/stimulants the night before 4. Write a to-do list on Sunday so I've got clear objections to hit the ground running the next day 5. Get up early and exercise/walk the dog/meditate 6. Have a good breakfast 7. Sit at my desk 10 mins before I'm due to start to get orientated for the day 8. Smile and be grateful that I've got a nice business, great clients and financial freedom to work on my terms What's your thing to ensure you kick the start of your week off really positively? 03.01.2022 There's a lot of stuff around about people saying whether they're an introvert or extrovert. I couldn't decide which one I was. Sometimes I'm an introvert and sometimes an extrovert depending on the circumstances. I'm guessing most people are like this too.... So I looked it up and discovered AMBIVERT. Now, this probably won't be news to a lot of people, and I think I've heard the term before too. But I hadn't given it much thought because I’m not inclined to categorise myself. But, after reading what an ambivert is I've decided that pretty much sums me up. For those that don't know, an Amibert is someone who falls in the middle of the introvert/extrovert continuum. Ambiverts have a blend of traits from both introverts and extroverts, as well as their own unique strengths. The direction ambiverts lean toward varies greatly, depending on the situation. Because their personality doesn’t lean too heavily in either direction, they have a much easier time adjusting their approach to people based on the situation. This enables them to connect more easily, and more deeply, with a wider variety of people. Credit: https://bit.ly/38eWU2X If most of the following statements apply to you then chances are you’re an Ambivert! 1. I can perform tasks alone or in a group. I don’t have much preference either way. . 2. Social settings don’t make me uncomfortable, but I tire of being around people too much. . 3. Being the center of attention is fun for me, but I don’t like it to last. . 4. Some people think I’m quiet, while others think I’m highly social. . 5. I don’t always need to be moving, but too much downtime leaves me feeling bored. . 6. I can get lost in my own thoughts just as easily as I can lose myself in a conversation. . 7. Small talk doesn’t make me uncomfortable, but it does get boring. . 8. When it comes to trusting other people, sometimes I’m skeptical, and other times, I dive right in. . 9. If I spend too much time alone, I get bored, yet too much time around other people leaves me feeling drained. . So, I think 8 of these 9 statements apply to me. How did you do and has it helped you decided what 'vert you are?

02.01.2022 I've been working with Wendy for over a year now. She does awesome work as an ecologist, farmer, innovator and strategist educating people about regenerative agriculture, and helping to build awareness around climate change, drought-proofing farms and growing food without using pesticides and fertilisers. Like all of my clients, I learn a lot from them and Wendy is no exception. Her intelligence and passion have given me valuable insights into a world I would only have scant... knowledge of. Thanks Wendy for the recognition and testimonial. It's been a pleasure working with you and I look forward to stepping into 2020 with strong sales of your important book, Eco-logical Farming Handbook.

01.01.2022 Are you a busy mum running a business? Running a business while raising a family is one tough gig. Staying on top of your social media to remain visible & relevant is important but time consuming. Here are some tips on how to stay organised & to save time managing your social media without falling down the rabbit hole of creating, posting & engaging over & over each day. ... Keep your work environment & your digital files & folders super organised to find what you need quickly. Spend 10 mins at the end of the day to tidy it up. Document your processes & keep as a checklist. Create a routine & stick to it. Create lists of hashtags to c/p to your socials, set up folders in Canva for templates, use the brand kit in Canva to easily access your colours, fonts & logo. Dedicate a time each day to deal with your social media, automate as much as you can & set some time to go 'live' to engage. Batch your content at least 2 weeks ahead, schedule it all in an automation tool. Use a content calendar to plan everything out (Google sheets is good to create a bespoke one that you can evolve over time). Repupose evergreen content with a tool like MeetEdgar, SocialBee, Recurpost or Smarterqueue. Boardbooster is good for Pinterest. Decide what you love to do with your social media then outsource the rest. Choose & focus on the platforms only where your audience is. Don't get distracted by the shiny new thing. Plan a pillar content for each week. Write a blog about it, tweak & repurpose the blog across other channels and do a FB Live. 1 piece repurposed several times. Sign up for Google Alerts on topics relevant to your industry & share them out. Plan a funnel to direct people from social platforms to your website & leverage that interaction into a sale or loyal customer. Group similar tasks into batches & do them at the same time. Easily distracted by other peoples posts on social media, then click the 3 dots on the top right of a post & turn off the notifications. What tips do you already use or are there others you'd like to share. Drop them in the comments below. Sharing is caring #mumpreneur #mumpreneurlife #socialmediatips

01.01.2022 3 reasons to put your faith in a SMM I work with women like you who have been running their business for at least 3 years, and have grown to the point where they can't do it all themselves. Are you looking to outsource the social media work to someone who will competently manage it for you?... Your business’ social media is important, and you quite rightly are concerned that it could all go belly up if you put it in the hands of a virtual stranger. But the great thing is you and a social media manager won’t be strangers. You’ll both work closely together to ensure that everything is carefully planned out and outlined in a social media scheduling planner which you both can access. I use a Google sheet template that I customise for my different clients. It is shared with my clients and can be developed over time as the business grows, or the marketing strategy changes. Some are quite simple because they are only on one platform and just want a few posts a week. For the more socially active clients I’ll add more columns for different platforms, types of posts, dates, times, image and written content. Each week I create and batch 2 to 4 weeks’ worth of content in the scheduler, the client then goes in to it to approve or make any changes or comments, and when it’s finalised, I schedule it into either Creator Studio or their own scheduling tool to which I have access. This system works well for me and my clients. They feel as though they’re not detached from their digital marketing, but equally they’re not spending the hours that they used to in the evenings or on weekends. This is time that they can spend doing other things whether it be personal or working on their business. As I like to point out, how much is your hourly rate as a business owner doing all the social media work yourself, compared to me who specialises in this field with many years of marketing experience. Wanna check me out then jump over to my bio @powerup.yoursocials for a brief intro, then click the Linktr.ee link for my website and FB biz page. #growmybusiness #smallbusiness #business #smallbusinesshelp
