25.01.2022 Hand preference is an important skill that develops in children in the early years. It helps them practice coordination and strength on one particular hand so they may develop the skills for writing, cutting, tying school laces later on. Crossing the mid-line of the body is a valuable part of this development as both sides of the brain begin to coordinate with movements and function.... An activity to encourage children crossing the mid-line is painting on a wall or mural and encouraging large brush strokes across the body whilst holding the paintbrush in the one preferred hand. This will help strengthen a child’s Bilateral integration skills (using both sides of the body at the same time). & Core stability and trunk rotation: The muscles of the trunk that helps to stabilizing the body so the arms and legs can be moved with control. 03.01.2022 Gardening with our children today at Peter Pan Kindergarten Some of our families last year shared cuttings from their home gardens and we Planted them in our garden. Now they are growing shoots and sprouts we are propagating them in pots to share with all families to take home....
