25.01.2022 @drewby86 has been part of the PPS Community for almost 4-years now. His first 2-years were spent primarily lifting heavy objects and winning in-house Powerlifting Competitions. But the last couple of years were heavy body composition focused; losing almost -50kg body weight and eventually doing his first photoshoot.... Here’s what he had to say when first posting his results: I have been conflicted in posting this, I don’t want it to be a vanity post or seeking anything other than to show people who, like myself never thought they could achieve results in the gym or have been struggling to lose fat or make gains. Coming from a big boy background where I had been overweight most of my life, I struggled to believe in myself and felt all I could do was be fat and lift heavy. I carried this mindset for a long time before hitting 150kg and I decided to not make excuses and start to hold myself accountable for everything I ate and how much I moved. In October 2019, for 8 months and as most of you have seen I lost 43kg with the help of my PT @perthstrengthspecialist and finishing my weight loss at 107kg from 150kg. I maintained my new frame and built muscle. Then at the end of last year I set myself a new goal to prepare for a photo shoot through my gym Physique Performance Specialists (PPS) with the help of personal trainers @dylztran and @malcolmyap starting at 25% body fat in 3 months dropped down to the lowest body I have ever had in my adult life fat at 14.9%. I want this post to serve as proof whilst there is no magical cure to losing weight with some willpower, discipline, great support base, and educated advice the weight will drop! 06.01.2022 I’m Jess! I came to PPS because I was suffering extreme pain from an injury sustained over a decade ago. I did rehab programs, physio, pilates, yoga, saw pain specialists, was on medications, been in and out of gyms - I tried it all. I was unmotivated and overweight due to terrible eating habits. Weight training would be my last shot before I would accept my pain and depression from it - And ultimately give up!... PPS has changed my life beyond words... I didn’t think I would be able to lift weights due to my injury... I thought it would probably make it worse. This train of thought couldn’t have been more wrong! The coaches at PPS work with you and your goals. Some days due to my job, I have flare-ups of pain - I don’t even need to speak up, My trainer Malcolm can see that my routine requires adjustments to suit my personal needs, which means doing some different movements to the rest of the class. I appreciate this so much to not be made to feel like I’m there to do what everyone else is, if a movement isn’t working for me. The coaches knowledge and intuition for individual goals get me coming back each week; The encouragement from all the coaches and making new friends who are all just as excited to see each other’s progression and cheering each other on. I’d have to say to anyone who is thinking about joining and hasn’t yet: This is the absolute best thing I have ever done for myself. I can do my job pain-free. My body composition has completely changed, also marking me feel confident physically. This isn’t a gym where you walk in, and they nail you to lift the heaviest and most - This isn’t a gym full of egos and being the best. The coach’s focus highly on your individual achievements; they work with you. I’ve even gotten my two best friends to join. We go to class, lift, laugh and are surrounded by positivity.
