25.01.2022 Tomorrow is when most people walking in support of the 27forParkinsons in October finish their walks. I’ve still got three to go but the take home message is th...at I am just short of the $1000 milestone and it would be great to get there .Three more walks shouldn’t be that hard (Its actually been very good for me- my walking has improved and although it’s just to the front gate and back it gives the day a boost along.) Any last minute donations of even just a little bit will be warmly received. Me, I’m going for the hot pack! https://www.parkinsonswalk.org.au/my-fundraisi//euan-laird #27forParkinsons

22.01.2022 Another day another odd idea. It concerns me that coronavirus deaths are just becoming stats so how about a special day in July to Light up a life to: - high...light the people behind stats - recognise and thank health workers - keep us going for the long haul How Light up your house/ garden like some suburbs do for Christmas.say for one week mid July with a set day to remember individuals lost Can do at home with family and existing equipment Younger kids get to see something magical amongst the grim environment - families effected and health workers feell supported Share if you think it could work See more

16.01.2022 This years walk for Parkinson s is something different.

13.01.2022 To be honest I’ve used up all my spare days to complete 27 walks in October as a fundraiser for Parkinson’s Victoria. So today I set off during the best part of... the day and determined to notice the little things on the way that we so often take for granted. 600 metres took me just over an hour.#27forparkinsons See more

12.01.2022 Unfortunately took a tumble last Thursday ( nothing too serious) so didn’t make it up the driveway for two days but the good news is we’ve raised almost double ...our fundraising target and I’m back walking and made it up and back.tonight. A story about the driveway: mmmmm well a couple of winter s ago contractors were replacing gravel on side of road ; before which they wete removing edge of road which was gravel grass and debris Without thinking I offered our driveway as a dumping spot ( freee gravel I thought) over 70 tonnes of slippery when wet sediment later our driveway was un drive able .i was in serious trouble. To make mattters worse I ordered the wrong aggregate which I hoped we could spread on top.?when the truck up and started to dump I felt I’ll as the flirtb400 km stone tumbled out See more

11.01.2022 As autumn 2020 draws to a close

10.01.2022 October 1st - First day of 27 for Parkinson’s. . Left my walk to the front gate a bit late in the day- made it there, just, to but needed a lift home. At least ...it leaves plenty of room for improvement Thanks to the 10 sponsors who have been really generous and have donated twice as much as my initial target already. Not overly ambitious this year due to the other things going on in people’s lives but remember every little bit help. Photos of our driveway through the season and what we started with itI kinda chronicles our lives here . One day the boys are pushing plastic fire engines up it- seemingly the next your listening for the hotted up exhaust as a singal at 3.00 that there home safely. See more

02.01.2022 Lockdown Gardening Expect to have some more time at home in the near future? A perfect opportunity to re- acquaint yourself with all things green: Here are some... ideas just for starters: - grow your own mushrooms for a quickly rewarding crop. Make sure use edible mushrooms kits available at all good nurseries -Make your own compost - grow your own herbs, I easy growing winterveg eg mosr brassicas. and fast growing leafy veg:(Pak Choy, micro greens, radiish and salad greens - made up of baby leaf lettuce, kale, snow pea and beetroot shoots for salad, edible flowers viola, nasturtiums ( bound to bring back memories of a) (plant these in pots ) and move during the day to maximise sun - use waste plastic sheets or glass to make your own hot house -mow your lawn three times per week. Your place will look like a golf.course before you have time to say coronavirus - get a spare container old kegs, baths ideal, layer of hay on bottom then evenly distributseed potato’s. As shots emerge cover with compost -Put some flower bulbs in pots that you can position in front of window if feeling a big glum -Try making a hanging basket ball of annual flowers or if neglect is more your bcattkw if well looked after or succulents if not Plants ape the inside of your house . Use a combination of indoor plant, framed vistas out window and don’t forget macrame hanging baskets, -fire up the household recycling effort; sort waste and composting , reuse recycle - create your own worm farm -Try some chooks and see how versatile they are -start your own potted orchard with some dwarf fruit trees - add some citrus to your life-everyone needs a lemon but also try simething a little different eg a native finger lime, Tahitian lime
