22.01.2022 Great day at our holiday camp this week where we included a shooting competition for our Under 12. Players really enjoy this format as there is lots of repetition, decision making and experimenting with each part of the foot and finally execution on goal. Players love scoring goals. 12.01.2022 These U7 players gave me so much joy today. . We finished off our session today with a wonderful 4 v 4 game proving even more that small sided games truly work. In this clip everyone gets to touch the ball and got the chance to attack, defend and transition. In possession we had players dribbling, passing & getting into good positions to receive the ball. Out of possession, players were denying space and getting in good tackles to win the ball. The game had everything the players wanted to achieve in the session. 11.01.2022 Hello folks We wanted to share some very exciting news! We are thrilled to announce that Melbourne Soccer Academy will be one of the founding members of the new Melbourne Premier League launching in early 2021. PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUEMELBOURNE... The Premier Academy League is the first and largest competition in Australia to offer a year-round, structured league for Academy players. The league has been tailor-made to provide what we believe is best for youth development, encompassing holistic values and approaches that develop players as people, not just as athletes. After the success and growth of the League in Sydney over the last two years, Melbourne is a natural next step in the expansion of the competition and we are very excited to be part of it. As Sydney was two years ago, Melbourne is currently without a dedicated competition catering for academies based around the city and the goal for the Premier Academy League is to support academies like ourselves, by providing a professional, high-quality competition to compliment the excellent programs that we deliver already for our players. COVID-19 permitting, the Premier Academy League will kick-off in Melbourne in early 2021 with a Pre-Season competition running through February and March. This will be followed by a Summer Season competition from October to December. There has been a lot of collaboration between academies over the last few months to develop not only the concept but also to ensure that we follow the two key principles which is both player development and enjoyment . More information about venues, season dates and competition structure will be announced over the coming weeks and months but obviously, all plans are subject to COVID-19 restrictions and regulations. We are also really excited about the future collaboration between the Melbourne and Sydney Leagues and Academies ! A National Cup is currently being planned for 2021, which will bring academy players together from all over Australia for a huge festival of football. 05.01.2022 Diego Maradona was everything I love about football. Not only was he an exceptional and unique footballer but you could see that pure love for the ball every single time he touched it. He was my football idol as a kid and so lucky I got the opportunity to see him play. Rest in Peace, Diego.

03.01.2022 Close control level is exceptional with Harry%. With our 1 on 1 technical sessions we ensure we maximise the players touches on the ball. Our warm up consists of ball mastery with a transition element. Our skill component is focused on the finer details ; passing-receiving, first touch forward into space, back foot receiving to maximise time on the ball, check and scan, open body position to see the big picture, breaking lines with and without the ball, ball speed and much more.
