24.01.2022 Free 2 hour training for men - Raising awareness on depression, suicide and help seeking Lifeline Macarthur is proud to offer a free ‘ReadtheSigns’ course to raise men’s awareness on stress and depression, suicide prevention, help seeking, self-care, and how to help mates who may be struggling. Please keep in mind that this training is for people who identify as male, 18 years or over and live, work, or study in the South Western Sydney area.... In Australia, 3 out of every 4 suicides are by men. Not only is there a need for greater understanding of factors influencing male suicide but, if it is to be adequately addressed, all of us must become part of the solution- watchful and preventative ‘eyes and ears’ in our communities. Sessions are delivered virtually, selected nights from 6:30pm- 8:30pm. Check availability and register through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com.au/o/lifeline-macarthur-15983111 Alternatively, if you would like to book a separate session for your workplace outside of hours and dates offered, please send an enquiry to [email protected] or call 4645 7201.

18.01.2022 Short Film Festival Year 10 As a part of their Distinctively Visual unit, 10 English 1 became judges in their own short film festival. Having composed their own judging criteria after discussing the features of a quality film, the class viewed four past Tropfest winners. To authenticate the moment, students were asked to wear head wear appropriate for a film critic! It was a fun way to celebrate Australian film and extend our knowledge of film techniques and methods.
