19.01.2022 ABOUT TOUCH Massage is touch! It is of course hands on and often heavy work (most of my clients will confirm this) but in my opinion it should be much more than... this! Touch is connection with Body, Heart and Soul! We humans (as well do mammals) need to touch and to be touched. For a child especially a baby it is very important to be in loving touch with their mom to grow healthy (physical and mental) and to develop healthy relationships. For sick people a caring person who touches them is as important as a good medical therapy is. It can be a hug, it can be a short touching or holding of the hand or shoulder to give someone courage or to show compassion. The word touch has so many meanings - touch the soil, to be in touch with each other, she touched my heart or it touched my soul - it stands for physical touch, for "to feel", for empathy and compassion as well as for "to connect". You feel the difference if a therapist gives you a rub (a good or a bad one) or if a qualified therapist touches you deeply while using professional massage techniques, is present, touches you and connects with you, feels your tensions and releases them, feels how strong the pressure should be for you and asks you for your feedback, feels your blockages and in your tissue stored traumas (physical from an accident or incident or non-physical), feels your needs at this moment and cares for you. 18.01.2022 HOMEMADE PURIFYING & RELAXING BATH SALT Recipe by Jacqueline (Mixture is for 2-3 Baths)... You will need: 1 airtight glass Jar or metal Container 1 Mug Epson Bath Salt 15-20 drops Juniper Essential Oil* 5 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil* 5 drops Lemon Essential Oil* 1 sprig of dried Pine Needles (Alternatives: Spruce Needles, Fir Needles or 5 drops Cypress Essential Oil or 5 drops more Eucalyptus Oil*) 1 sprig of dried Ysop or Lemon Myrtle leaves (=10-20 leaves) 1 TBSP Spirulina Powder (blue green algae)** Variation: add 1-2 TBSP Sea Salt in the mix *You'll find these high quality essential oils at #Woodfloria in Woodford or for my friends in Switzerland at #Farfalla. Don't use these essential oils if you're pregnant or if have health issues like allergies or epilepsy!!! **Spirulina has a lot of health benefits (see below) but it is quite "colorful" and extremely "green" - keep this in mind if you use it! If you fear spots or if you can't buy it - just leave it away! RECIPE: Put the Epson Salt in your Jar and if you choosed to add Sea Salt put that too in it. Hold the pine needles in your hand as little bunches and cut them with a scissor in 2 mm long pieces into your jar. Add 1 TBSP Spirulina in your jar close the lid and shake the mixture well. Do the same with the Essential Oils. Keep some nice Ysop or Lemon Myrtle leaves beside and cut the other in small pieces and add both to your bath salt. Shake well! If you keep the mixture in a glass jar. If you prefere oil baths you can add 1 TSP Sweet Almond Oil to the mixture or direct in your bath! Otherwise you can keep it in the jar or divide it in 2-3 batches and pur these batches in little cloth bags so you don't clog your drain and store this bags in a jar! SOME OF THE HEALTH BENEFITS: -Epson Salts is magnesium sulfate and helps to relax your muscles -Spirulina is detoxifying, rich in antioxidants, firms the skin and fights inflammation -Pine Needles are calming but also uplift your mood (Cypress would be stress relieving) -Juniper is stress relieving, cleansing and purifying -Eucalyptus is antiviral and antibacterial and enhances the breathing function -Lemon is antibacterial and boost your immunity -Ysop is soothing, cough suppressant and increases circulation (Lemon Myrtle is antiseptic and disinfectant -Sea Salt is alkalizing, boosts the immune system, helps with weight loss, helps to heal skin conditions, helps with muscle spasm, pain and crapms Enjoy and relax!
